QTEs - Quick Time Events, for those who haven't heard the term before - are a popular way in many games to show dynamic action whilst simultaneously involving the player in the action by requiring them to press buttons in sequence to make sure the action continues. How do you feel about QTEs? Are they a good way to make a game more involving when it is primarily a more cinematic experience, or do you prefer to watch cutscenes and keep gameplay separate? Which games (if any) do you think could use QTEs, and which games (if any) did not benefit from them?
FFXIV has some very basic quicktime events during boss fights, and I recall Detective Pikachu having some in cutscenes too. I actually enjoy them since they make me feel more immersed in the game, like I'm more involved and not just watching. People I have seen don't seem to feel the same way though, haha. )':
