Welcome to the Q&A Section, where all your wildest dreams come true! Please read these rules before posting and this promise will actually happen, guaranteed.

The purpose of the Q&A Section is to get to know your fellow members through asking them questions. This is a laid-back section, yet slightly personal. As such, there are a few ground rules that need to exist.

    Question & Answer Section Rules:
    • Follow all Global Rules
      • You can find a link to the forum rules here. Remember to not multi-post, which you can avoid by taking advantage of the multi-quote feature.
    • Be respectful of other members when asking questions.
      • There is such thing as getting too personal. Avoid questions that dive too deeply into a user’s personal life. (See the next post for more details on what questions are appropriate)
    • Don’t ask spammy questions
      • An example of this is copying and pasting questions. While that is an efficient way to ask questions, it is spammy in nature. These can come across as boring and show an overall lack of effort and interest in the person on the other end.
    • Don’t ask vague questions
      • Make sure your questions are clear, concise, and easy to understand. The more effort and thought you put into your question, the easier it is for the recipient to give a detailed in response. (See the next post for more details on what questions are appropriate)
There you have it! As previously stated, there is another post down below which outlines how to make an effective question. Happy asking, and thanks for reading!

So you wish to ask questions like a pro?

Greetings fellow posters! Have you ever wanted to ask truly amazing questions? Questions which hold a great relevance, or perhaps those that task the brain? Here, we're going to give you a few pointers on how you can ask like a pro!

    Quality
Short questions like "What's your favourite number between one and three?" or "How many biscuits can you quaff in an hour?" are not quality. Try to keep your questions of the quality breed that make people think.

    Clarity
Always double check on spelling, wording and general manner through which you’re asking your questions! It goes a long way!

    Consideration
Please don’t press for information or be rude or nosy. Ask questions in a manner that doesn’t come off as stalkerish and be on your best behavior.

    Originality
Try to keep your questions interesting and unique to avoid duplicate questions! Questions like 'What's your favourite colour?', or 'Do you prefer dogs or cats?' have no doubt been asked before, if not several times before. By no means do you need to go crazy with your questions, since a question like 'Which component star in Alpha Centauri do you prefer?' will be hard for a lot of people to answer. Try to keep them relevant to the user you're asking.

    Be Entertaining
Don't come up with dull, boring, mundane questions. Try to have a little fun, show some emotion! Heck, you can even throw in your own opinion on the matter, 'cause that way you show you're at least human!

And lastly, remember to follow all existing rules!

And... that's it! Now, go out there and make some golden questions!
