I like writing, you might not know. So, I thought to post a thread here where you can read...let's see, quotes, short poems(might not rhyme), andddd....whatever I write here? Do read~ ^-^ 'Thinking about yourself first, that's not called selfish.' 'Find what you love to do, not what you see with others that they love to do.' 'We can't always find the true meaning of life. That doesn't mean you'll stop searching.' 'You think you have the worst life? Try counting the ants that you crushed under your feet.' 'Care for those you think care about you too.' -Cherry
Not from literature but from a videogame (Final Fantasy Dissidia OO), when Yang (a peak-of-physical-training monk) is asked why he trains high on the cliffs of mountains instead of like a safe and climate-controlled gymnasium or something: "It gives us the fear we need to survive. For when you fall off a cliff, it won't matter how much you've trained your body." Kind of reminds me of how a certain Dark Knight Rises out of a pit... Anyway, I like the concept of this line, and I hope someone else has something to gain from it. Separately, one from a book I read recently. Near the end of The Water Knife by Paolo Bacigaluppi, one character is crying to another about feeling bad for halfway betraying him. He explains why he's not upset (paraphrased since it was a library book I don't have onhand): "You don't judge people for the things they do when they're pressed against a wall and don't have a choice. You judge them for the few times they're fortunate enough to have a choice at all." Sums up the theme of the book, people doing difficult things in difficult situations.
"Anyone can make an error, but it only becomes a mistake if you refuse to correct it." Thrawn from Star Wars
'Love is not holding someone's hand because of jealousy. Its trusting someone even when they hold others' hand.' -Cherry
“I wanted to break your jaw, let you choke on your own teeth. But I didn’t. That wasn’t weakness. It took everything.” -Rick Grimes of The Walking Dead.
"Here is the secret to happiness: just pretend you are happy, and soon you will forget you are pretending." Oh, and sorry for bēińg grammar police, but @Negative Zero in paraphrāsińg, qŭōtātion marks aren't ūsed (at lēast in Philippines, Įa dœsn't knōw about other plāces)~
"If you want peace, prepare for war." one of the Roman sayings...I don't know who exactly said it but I know that it was a Roman saying.
Time for Filipino hugot līnes~ "It's okay to play inside or outside, as long as you don't play in a relationship!" "Don't get angry at traffic. If there is no traffic, you would get paranoid and start to look for it!"
"All civilization was sadness from the start. One man's climb based on another man's fall. It must end." "Equality and quietude! They're my two great wishes for my world. We need only surrender it to dragons." "You may wonder what I am doing, standing here, right now. I am waiting for time to pass - peacefully." "Does your world still teem with humans? Then, no doubt, it knows nothing but the horror of war." - King Zephiel of Bern, Fire Emblem Heroes
"Tired? No. Angry at the implication that such a trivial chore would tire me? Very much so." -Lu Bu, Fate EXTELLA The Umbral Star
