Based on their strength and ability to beat other pirates.

    Here are my rankings:

    1. Monkey D. Luffy: Obviously is the strongest because he's the captain, he always faces the toughest opponents in the arcs, and has some perks that make him stronger than everyone else in his crew (king's haki and pretty good devil fruit power)

    2. Roronoa Zoro: I think he has a slight edge over Sanji because Zoro usually faces the second strongest bad guy; he also got training from the second best guy out of everyone (Luffy got training from Rayleigh, Zoro got it from Dracule Mihawk).

    3. Sanji: Based on his bounty and his role in the crew, Sanji does not sound like a strong guy; however, he has very few weaknesses and a lot of strengths. His power matches Zoro's, and he only uses his feet!!! Sanji's weakness is against attractive women, which is a great downside to his power, however his abilities still let him stand strong as the 3rd strongest on the crew.

    4. Franky: I think Franky is the fourth strongest member of the SH crew because he has a lot of weapons and arsenal at his disposal; one of them is the Vegapunk laser that he builds in his body which is on of the strongest powers (if not strongest) of any SH members'. Franky also has a large robot body that he can move and use; it's very fast and sturdy, and he can take on larger brutes for the SH pirates with it.

    5. Robin: One of the best assassins on the crew, Robin has a really neat ability with her hana-hana-no-mi (flower flower fruit) devil fruit ability. she can summon very large limbs to crush her opponents; she can also summon her hands wherever she is looking at. Her weaknesses are the same as Luffy's and Brook's, as both have DF (devil fruit) powers.

    6. Chopper: I think Chopper is the next strongest member of the strawhats because of his ability to change into several forms; His kungfu form and monster form are probably the best for fighting, as they can take on a lot of enemies and strong ones as well. His monster form is one of the strongest abilities out of any Strawhats', and he can control it.

I think Franky, Robin, and Chopper are pretty equal in terms of strength and ability, and one can make a case for each of them being rated as # 4.

    7. Brook: Being the musician and the most recent member of the SH pirates, Brook doesn't play a huge role in fights; He is very quick and his technique with swords is very good, however. He ate a DF in order to have a second life, which also gave him some nice abilities. Honestly, he is not at the level of Franky, Robin, and Chopper yet but he's close at #7,

    8. Usopp: Usopp is a very sharp shooter, and specializes in shooting small plant bullets that have different effects. He is pretty strong, but not as strong as the other members.

    9. Nami: Nami has a really cool weapon that can cause lightning strikes at any location. She is very frail and plays the smallest role in terms of fighting.

Haaaaaad to specify that. If it were favorites outright, then I'd go with...

    Robin
    Brook
    Jimbei (SHUSH. HE'LL JOIN EVENTUALLY ;_; )

    Franky
    Zoro
    Luffy
    Nami
    Usopp
    Chopper
    Sanji

Strengths though...Honestly it's tricky. If I take into account how they act in the show:

Luffy - *sigh* Main character. Plot armor, haki, blegh.

Robin - Close combat is useless, and she's arguably the smartest of the crew at this point, especially considering what she spent her two years away doing. Also; entire body clones that she can trade out with and swap places with now? Yeah, good luck ever landing a hit.

Zoro - Dude's been training with Mihawk for two years. Let that sink in.

Sanji - The sad thing is that he's been a bit of a joke post-timeskip. He's either been in a different body or bleeding out since the crew reunited. Still, based what we've seen, I'd put him at Rob Lucci's level by now.

Usopp - Let's be honest here; pinpoint accuracy and a weapons array whose ammo only he seems to be able to figure out beforehand? Dude's become a total dark horse. Also, let's not forget that even pre-timeskip while he could never beat Luffy, he could at least put up a solid fight.

Brook - His sword tricks have changed considerably. Given that we've seen at least one attack that freezes targets, I would not be surprised if at some point we see that his sword slashes/thrusts are revealed to have other effects. Also; astral stuff.

Franky - As powerful as he is and with all his upgrades, he still spends far too much time screwing around. It took him far too long to bring out the laser cannon and the mech.

Chopper - The form thing's still limiting him entirely to close combat, and he can only maintain his monster form for a limited period of time.

Nami - Let's admit it; there's a sort of pre-bias here that the "lead female with the quick temper" in shonen series almost always falls back behind the others even as they increase in power/talent. Sakura, Rukia, etc. Hell, remember when ChiChi was an accomplished and skilled martial artist?

Of course, this may all change as the series goes on. This is just my personal assessment right now.

Strengths and such, huh? Alright, let's see...

I won't include Luffy, Zoro and Sanji. There's no point, they're obviously over powered.
So i'll start the list with...

Thousand Sunny - Because it's the best ship that flies, has lasers and all kinds of other weapons. Sunny's the best!
Robin - Definitely agreed to Madaraki. I'm pleasantly surprised that i and a few friends aren't the only ones that view Robin as an epic force who stays quiet for w/e reason. Robin for Pirate King!!
Franky - If we don't take in account that he messes around, this guy's pretty crazy. He'd be able to do so much. If only he'd get serious.
Nami - Dude if this girl would actually do things she'd be a bomb. Electricity is a scary weapon. Weather is a scary weapon. Also this girl's smart as hell. She certainly would survive one way or another.
Brook - Music power, all kinds of shenanigans. Also really cool sword techniques. And all his skeleton stuff. Soul things. You get the idea. Super cool guy.
Chopper - Limited to short use of monster form, BUT, this guy still kicks butts just fine the way he is with normal transformations. He's just a lil' too sweet and all, y'know. Trusting and easily scared.
Usopp - Haha i'm sorry favorite character, but you're at the bottom. It's true that Usopp has gotten way stronger over time, but he's still Usopp. His logic is a tad odd and works on some enemies like Perona, but in general he's not the smartest. Perfect sniping and great weapons, good will. A lot of tricks, too. But that's about it. Can't deny that he's still a force to reckon, as he puts up great fights despite his fears. But he still lacks scary potential. Can't wait until Usopp becomes the biggest badass in crew.
