Finally, a one-word thread title. When given video recommendations, what do you do in response to them? Do you go along with it, do a bit of research, ignore it, try it out for just a little bit...? Or where do you receive recommendations to begin with? Friends, advertisements, news sites, watching random people play games as you walk past? This is directed to video games of any kind, on any platform at all, so don't feel shy about trying to restrict yourself to just a select few platforms. :::: I myself tend to ignore recommendations near completely. With the recommendation I'm given a name, and with that name I do the research myself, and disregard any and all other opinions on the subject. I do this because I know I am looking for a very specific gaming experience in mind, and the things in gaming that tend to apply to most people (playing with friends, difficulty, total play time) are not things I seek after at all. Besides, I think it's more important for me to develop my own stances and views, rather than borrowing or copying someone else's. In the end I may agree with other people in how they view a certain game, but I will do so because I came to that conclusion on my own. What about the rest of you? Share your thoughts!
