Regular or Mega Evolution?

I think that's quite possible that mega evolution is a new way of cross generation evolution, but gen 3 and gen 5 had no cross gen evo's either and Sylveon exists, so I don't see mega evolution as a complete replacement.

 

I personally like regular cross-generational a lot better than megaevolutions since I thought they gave a cooler twist to the Pokémon line compared to the mega. I would be kind of disappointed if they did get rid of the regular, so hopefully not.

 

To be perfectly honest, I don't like megas all that much.

They're cool, but they're not for me, since I'm not a battler XD

So I'd be pretty disappointed if mega-evolutions flat out replaced regular, cross-generational evolutions.

 

I dunno. It's possible, outside of the Eeveeons, that all evos will now be Megas, but that isn't set in stone.

I think most of them are just... they add nothing to the design. However, there are some cases like Mega Slowbro where the Mega form actually... detracts from the design really.

 

I think that mega evolutions are cool and all, but part of Pokémon is raising your Pokémon and growing with them not using a mega stone for one battle.

 

I really like Mega Evolution so if it does replace cross evolution I'm all for it, however I'm sure we'll still get some new evolutions as well.

 

I think Megas can be pretty cool, but I'd rather actual regular evolution. I think they need to tone down the amount of Megas, I think only a handful of Pokémon should have it. Give some love to other Pokémon Gamefreak, and give them proper evolutions.

 

Seeing that Megas are a gen 6 thing, I think its possible that we would receive normal evolutions. I feel that Pokémon like dunsparce don't need a mega rather a regular evo.

 

I like Megas a lot! I assume they'll only be using Mega evolutions from now on, but it's fine if they make normal evolutions as well.

 

I'm personally a little indifferent about it. On the one hand, new evolution's would be great for Pokémon who could use them (Klefki perhaps?) but on the other, Megas are a great way to make Pokémon who are already fully evolved better (Beedril really needed that mega).

Really, what I'd like to see is a mix of the two: Megas for the Pokémon who need them (for those that couldn't really have an evo, like Milotic) and evos for others, perhaps changing playstyle (Klefki is a spikes user by nature, but an evo could make for a nice change to its standard gameplay)

 

I have never said this, but I don't know if they will add mega evolution next generation again. You can't transfer items, so they could get rid of it.
