Oh my god... I really don't know how to respond to this. Two amazing entertainment people in one year because of disease/poor reactions. First Monty Oum and now Iwata. Nintendo has always been a major part of my life, which is kind of obvious given I'm on this website, but I grew up on Pokémon and Mario. Now I follow Nintendo over anything else in the games industry, and hearing that the president of Nintendo has passed away is just heartbreaking. Rest in Peace Satoru Iwata.

Having followed the news put out by Nintendo and watching the company move and act, I have developed quite a lot of respect for their figureheads, particularly Fils-Aime and Iwata. Hearing this is almost like hearing that one of the Dynamic Duo suddenly passed away; Iwata's presence has been very hard to ignore or even understate.

Technically yes, "it will never be the same without him", and even though Iwata has left some very big shoes to fill, I'm excited to see what Nintendo will do next. Yet, whatever we do, we shouldn't remain stuck and wallowing in sadness.

He probably wouldn't like that. Rather, he shall live on with his trademark smile and enthusiasm within our memories.

Reminder this is the man that made is possible for Kanto to be in Pokémon G/S/C. This made has made my life amazing...he was already facing health issues as it is...to think he'd die of Bile Duct Cancer of all things. Whoever replaces Iwata will never make such a legacy, he will be missed.

    Please Understand...

I don't really know what to say. RIP Satoru Iwata. I remember seeing him for the first time back in 2009 or so. I thought he was a pretty cool dude, but now...I just feel sorry for him.

I was pretty surprised when I heard about this not long ago. Some deep respect goes out to him, though, and it's really tragic to see him pass on... After all of the contributions that he's made, he'll be sorely missed. :[ Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata.

This was rough to hear. It's a shame he had to die, and so young, too. Like @[member=Sachi-Shimazu] said, it's shockingly reminiscent of Monty Oum's death on February 1st of this year. It truly is a horrible event, and he will be missed by many, including myself.

Like @[member=Eclipse] said, he probably wouldn't want us to grieve. But if you find yourself doing so, know that it's okay. It's a shock, and it's a saddening event. I don't think any of us knew him personally, but that shouldn't affect your reaction to his passing. He did a lot for Nintendo, and therefore, a lot for us.

You will be missed, Mr. Iwata.

I just found out about this not too long ago and all I felt was sadness inside. I wasn't teary but I felt it down to my bones. It's sad to see that he has passed but I'm happy that he has accomplished so many things for Nintendo. R.I.P he will forever be missed!

Oh man. He did so much for the Nintendo company... He's gonna be missed by me a lot, that's for sure.

While I never knew him in person, this sounds rlly cliche but I felt like I got to know him somewhat through the games.

Rest in peace, and thank you.

My best friend texted me about Mr. Iwata's passing. I literally feel like crying but I can't because my parents told me not to. They were being horribly insensitive about it...

I will miss him greatly. He was an inspiration to gamers and game developers everywhere. I know that Nintendo will live on but it won't be the same without Mr. Iwata.

I'll miss Iwata and what he has done in Nintendo for everyone everywhere to enjoy the games they produced and made possible to have. This man has truly done all he can for his company, and even cut his own salary if he did not meet the expectations for Nintendo's installments and productions each year. If that doesn't spell passion and determination for something, I don't know what does. Iwata cared more about doing big things than his own profits.

I know it will be hard for Nintendo to get their bearings after his passing, but I hope they can strive to keep doing their very best in his memory. Thank you for all you've done Iwata, rest in peace.

I read this news not long ago, and it's a real tragedy. No one should have to pass away at only 55. Iwata will be replaced on the corporate ladder, but never replaced in our thoughts. R.I.P. to him and I wish the best for his family, friends, and fellow employees/acquaintances.

Here's something I found to send him off with for helping out with the production of the fantastic game known as Xenoblade Chronicles, as well as so many others...

    See you, Mr. Iwata; we all understand, now~ ;w;

He will be deeply missed, and his impact will never be forgotten. He was an inspiration to many, and I hope, even in death, he will continue to be.

    Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata.

He was a truly amazing and compassionate man, you could tell just how much he cared and enjoyed bringing joy to the lives of others, and the fact that he was willing to take that pay cut when the Wii U wasn't doing too well so that others wouldn't have to suffer from it especially set him apart from your typical corporation head. Also, I just came across this on my Tumblr dash and...
