Reunion?

The sky was just starting to get bright and the small group of Pokémon lay in the lab. The female Umbreon sat awake in the shadows. The young Squirtle sleep next to her. The Umbreon giggled as she watched the little water type twitch and mumble in his sleep. She nudge him closer to the Glaceon and Magby. She smiled as she nuzzled the Squirtle. Then her ears flicked and she let out a small hiss. She could hear footsteps outside the lab and more then that, she could hear a voice and the voice sounded very familiar to the Umbreon.

"Hmm, I thought she'd be here?" The Umbreon nearly jumped out of her fur. The Umbreon ran to the door and slightly pushed the door open and poked her head out. She watched and let out a gasp. Outside of the Umbreon old burned house was a human. The Umbreon remand silent as she watched the human. The human had long brown hair tied up in a ponytail, a long sleeve shirt, tattered blue jeans and a hat that covered the humans face. The Umbreon watched the humans every movement and it seemed so familiar to her, but why?

She knew her trainer was gone and all her other humans friends were gone too. The humans were to afraid of the infection to stay, so they left they Pokémon to succumb to the infection. This thought shot the Umbreon into a fury. Her blue eyes lit up in a rage at the sight of the human as it looked through the burned ashes.

That's when the human took off it's hat and the Umbreon held her breath. The human wiped it's head with it's arms and let out a sigh. The Umbreon walked out of the lab and slowly and numbly walked toward the human. The human blinked and turned to the Umbreon with a smile, "There you are Luna." Just the look on the humans face made the Umbreon want to cry, but she wasn't the same Umbreon she once was. Her face slowly lit up into a shy smile, "Kat...."

The human, Kat, got to her knees and opened her arms toward the Umbreon. The Umbreon sniffled as she bit up speed and literally jumped into the humans arms. "Oh Kat...I thought I was never going to see you again! I felt that your leaving me was cruel and just not like you!" The Umbreon yelled at the human. The human held the Umbreon close and a few tears escaped from the corner of her brown eyes as she listened to her partner yell at her. "I know Luna, I know......" That was all the human said and it angered the Umbreon.

"WHY!? WHY DID YOU LEAVE ME?! No, not just me but everyone else. Why did you leave us Kat?" The Umbreon sniffled as she looked into the humans brown eyes. The human said nothing and as the Umbreon waited for an answer she heard a click. A gun was pointed at her head, the tears and grime glistened in the morning sun. "K-kat? Wha-what are you doing?" Tears were streaming done the humans face now and it left the Umbreon baffled. The human choked on her own voice as she spoke, "I'm sorry Luna, but it's the only way I know you'll never be infected...."

The Umbreon blinked. "Wh-what do you mean Kat?" The Umbreon was so confused. She had finally found her trainer and she felt like she was going to explode from happiness, but that was not the case. The human's body trembled as she held the gun to her life long friends head. "I-i........I'm so sorry Luna." With that the entire area was filled with a load bang. The other Pokémon in the lab woke up with a start and rushed out of the lab and came to the gruesome site.

The human held the Umbreon body in her arms as she cried out her name. The gun lay next to her trembling body. The Squirtle's face was was turning red from the site. "Mommy?...." The human looked up with a stun look and looked even more upset. "I........I'm so sorry little one......." With that the human took the gun in her trembling hand, placed the barrel to her head and held the Umbreon closed to her body. Tears streamed down her face and her voice quivered, "I'm so sorry......" And with that the gun went off and the human fell to the ground with a thud.

The Pokémon rushed forward and looked abound the happy yet sad sight. The human lay on her side, a smile on her face and tears still staining her pale skin. The Umbreon looked peaceful but upset and sad. Both of them looked sad and happy at the same time. The Squirtle let out a cry and the Glaceon tried to comfort him. Then the Glaceon saw something. It had fallen from the humans backpack. The Glaceon walked toward and tears started to form in his eyes. The picture was that of a human, a Umbreon and many other Pokémon, but what catch his attention were the human and Umbreon. It was them. The picture was one of when Luna and Kat were still together in their happy times. The Glaceon bowed his head and started to cry. Finally, after a year of being apart Pokémon human were reunited once again, but this time they would never leave each others side ever again.

 

Yeah. The squeal is already up, but I might write another side story.

 

I know T^T This is such an old story, that when I wrote it, it was alot better. Now it's not as good as it once was.

Also, this story takes place in the Epidemic, where Pokémon come back as undead and the humans have vanished. Kat, the trainer, killed Luna, the Umbreon, because she didn't want to see her turn into an undead and she was depressed. She lost her entire family, all her Pokémon, to the undead and she didn't want her closet friend to be killed to. She also felt terrible about killing Luna when she saw Taoide, the Squirtle, call Luna his mother. That was what drove her completly over the edge.
