Riding Pokemon

I think the idea is pretty awesome and it looks fun.
I think the limitations will be:

1. We will only be able to ride gogoat (not unless they add Pokémon like tauros and buffalant since they have a specifc build)
2. we will only be able to ride on special routes (they only advertised the riding in a specific city)
3. there will be limitations on how fast you are (the advertisement showed gogoat moving kind of slow

I thought it might be a TM, or a field move. When I posted this opinion on another forum, this was my response.

 

Well we know that Gogoat has some limitations so my thought is maybe there will be a few other Pokémon we can ride as well, but only in certain areas. Maybe there will even be mini games like races or something that you can ride your Pokémon in.

 

I am actually looking forward to seeing this happen. I wonder what other Pokémon they're thinking of, that can also do this? I imagine you could ride around on a Rapidash, Arcanine, or something big like that. o.o

 

Yea, probably some new HM, replacing strength maybe so the Pokémon you are riding can push boulders. It looks like a fun idea and I don't think it will be limited to one Pokémon.

 

I think the concept is really good, but it looks like the only Pokémon we'll be able to ride is Gogoat. It also looks slow. I think the idea of only being able to ride in certain places is good, and makes sense, but I don't like how slow it looks like they'll move. Hopefully running will be enabled.

 

In the picture the "saddle" on the Gogoat had a silhouette of a Gogoat, so I think we'll only be able to ride Gogoats.

 

I demand Rhydon to qualify for this because, well, no, really.
Just kidding. Or not.
I do hope the epic goat isn't the only one and other Pokémon get that option as well. Either way, the feature will be great as long as it's efficient. Yet the idea anyway is superb nice. I mean if they added pointless things like sitting then why not anything's cool.

 

I sure hope we can ride other Pokémon too. I don't think it'll be a HM if you can only ride one Pokémon with it, maybe you'll get a key item like a saddle or something.

 

I can see the the possibility of renting a store. But what of the possibility of riding Pokémon replacing the iconic bicycle. Just a thought.

 

I think it'd be cooler than the bike... Yeah.... I never used the bike, but if I could ride around on a Tyranitar then I would use it all the time! xD

There's a problem, with it being an HM. How would it work, in battle?

HMs are convenient, because they are both moves in battle, and outside of battle. Riding a Pokémon would be something that I can't see being used in a battle, thus, creating a move that can only be used outside of battle, and possibly only in one city. It would be fun if you could ride more than Gogoat, but I have a feeling it will be limited to just that Pokémon.

 

It'd be neat to have racing games, and have a slight dis/advantage dependent on your Gogoat's speed. I keep seeing things where Gogoat is only ridable in a city, though it'd be pretty fun to have certain Pokémon be able to go certain places. Maybe Gogoat could be used to navigate mountains? Playing off of a mountain goat idea where they "hop" from boulder to boulder. Gogoat would make mountain climbing a lot faster, though at the expense of not getting many Pokémon seen in the mountain range, or have it to where you can only get to certain places with Gogoat and get special items there.

It'd be neat if Gogoat had evolutions, each having a special place that you could ride it, in a eeveelution fashion.

I don't see the riding being able to be pulled off as a move, though if it was an ability or just an innate thing, maybe dependent on happiness?, I could see it working like that.

 

I don't think so. If there were more Pokémon which evolved like eevee, eevee'd lose the only thing that makes it special. And the company is looking for new things, so I think they'll not repeat something from the 1st generation.

 

You meant they're looking for more ways to milk money, not actual new features.
They'll feed anything to the fanbase as long as it's profitable.
But speaking of that concept, various forme changes would be awesome.
I'd totally name mine Chopper then, haha.

 

It could replace/work like Rock Climb. I doubt it, just a thought.
I just hope I can ride other Pokémon, specificly my Arcanine and Suicune

 

According to Serebii, you can ride a Rhyhorn too! I wonder if you could really ride every Pokémon. (please let it be true )
