Okay, so it has been a few days since I've been playing this game (probably around 12-13 days now). I have got to say, Nintendo has really struck gold when it comes to making me get my lazy gamer body out of my chair and begin walking around and working out. I'm currently level 52, and I'm at world 7, so while I'm not that far in, I'm enjoying myself with this game.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I'm referring to a game Nintendo released named "Ring Fit Adventures". This game is meant to be a fitness game, similar to "Wii Fit" in nature, except this game does a LOT more. Rather than being a bunch of exercise minigames, "Ring Fit Adventure" is an adventure RPG. To summarize the early game plot, you're just some person who found a random Ring Con on the floor, you hear a voice coming from the ring, telling you to pull on it, upon doing so, you've unleashed a Giant muscular dragon who proceeds to fly away and corrupt the world. Now it's up to you and your new partner "Ring" to stop the dragon from doing so.

The game then sends you to world 1 where you need to choose the first level, and hit "Play".

The overworld layout can be easily compared to some older Mario games. Where you can see the world itself and the levels in smaller sections that you can choose.

So if you've played some older Mario games, this type of level choosing might look familiar.

So far it sounds like a normal adventure game right? Well you'd be correct. But this is where the "Exercise" part of the game begins.
This is the fist thing the game will tell you upon starting the level:

In case you're a bit lost here, the game is telling you to begin Jogging. The player character will just be standing still until YOU, THE PLAYER, begin jogging (or walking, running, knee lifting) in place. Only then, will your character begin to move forward. While running through the levels, you have to option to pick up items and ingredients. Some levels have separate paths, so that you can re-do levels. There are obstacles that need to be avoided. All that good stuff.
OH NO!!! An enemy is in the middle of your path, looks like you'll have to defeat them in RPG style turn based combat.

    Combat:
The combat in this game plays like most turn based RPGs. On your turn you choose an attack, then an enemy, but there's a twist. The attacks themselves are actually physical exercises that you NEED TO DO in order to attack the enemy (for example, the starting attacks you get are, "Overhead Arm Press", "Knee to Chest", "Squats" and "Chair Pose"). The better you do the exercise the more DMG you do.

Example, utilizing both the Ring Con, and the Leg Strap, the game will monitor your movements and cause them to happen in the game:

    (Selecting your attack, then target)

(My current most hated attack, but it's so effective... the overhead squat)

After a while, you begin to unlock power ups, like type advantages (for you Pokémon players out there), the ability to make smoothies, and even the Skill Tree. It took me days just to unlock THE SKILL TREE

That's enough rambling. After all, this might be a thread that'll only get one or two people talking. What about you, people of LV, have you guys ever played or heard of Ring Fit?

Also, what's your experience with fitness in general, I'l like to hear your thoughts.

I haven't played this game but honestly I would love to. (I've (quite ironically) seen several playthroughs of it.)
The concept behind it is absolutely genius - RPG with fitness, right off the bat, is a lot more driving and motivating than something like Wii Fit which is just... kinda there. The game places a lot of emphasis on going at your own pace and self-care above all - it's a good contrast to the fear a lot of people new to fitness would have going to a public gym and constantly comparing oneself to everyone else there.
Also I am unironically attached to the plot and characters for reason I myself genuinely cannot understand but will gladly go along with.

    10/10 pls make sequel nintendo

I agree whole-heartedly, the game itself really does promote a "going at your own pace" attitude.

One of my favorite things about this game, which is something I forgot to mention in the original post, is the difficulty settings.
In every other video game, raising the difficulty would make the enemies and levels more challenging by either increasing their HP or DMG (Most times both). But Ring Fit adventures does things differently. Instead of increasing the enemies difficulty, it instead increases your exercises difficulty. In other words, if you wish to deal anywhere near as much DMG as you did before, the game gives you more reps per exercise. In other words, you're raising the difficulty of YOURSELF which in turn, means you're getting a better workout.

NOTE: You shouldn't raise the difficulty just because. The point of the game isn't for it to be challenging, it's for you to get a workout. It is not recommended to increase the difficulty higher than you can physically handle.
