Roleplaying as Canon Characters?

I didn't know there was any other way of role playing lol. I always role play canon characters if I role play at all. It's more fun to have a base to work with. If I were to roleplay my own characters I could just change things whenever I felt like depending on the situation and things can deteriorate from there...eventually I'd have a character that probably made no sense at all.

By roleplaying canon characters I'd at least have a more defined idea of what the character can and can't do.

We should do a canon character role play. Everyone picks a character or a few from various media and have them idk, save the world or something

 

Care to share what characters you've RP'd as? I'd be down for an RP like that! I know Cobalt RPs as canon characters too, so we'll just have to find some other people who do as well!

OC characters and OC rps are quite popular- it is what I started off RP'ing in. All of the RPs on Lake Valor are OCs, if you have looked at them.

 

At another forum I'm on we have this RP/card game where we choose a team of characters and set up fights and tournaments and stuff. Then we can RP interactions between your characters, your opponents and the rest of your team.

Through that I've played as Damian Wayne/Robin (DC), Roy Mustang (FMA), Hitsugaya Toshiro (Bleach) and a few other guys although not as much as the first 3. I'm not very good tho. I usually just convey stories through gifs and put in dialogue

 

I've done Miyamoto (Jessie's mom) for a mass TR takeover event on Bulbagarden and Cynthia for a B/W Team Plasma takeover (Bulbagarden loves takeovers,it seems)--but I'd really like to do Brock--or at least my master storyteller renaissance man version of Brock

 

Ohohohhhh, now you're speaking my language. <3 I recently joined Tumblr RP but I've been RPing for ages well before that. I just love writing so much, and it really helped me smash those creative writing essays I had to do for my English final exam.

I've RP'd lots of canon chars but of course I do have a few favourites in Fantomex, Wolverine, Iron Man (comics), Jak, Ratchet, Cole MacGrath (video games), etc etc.

 

Ahh you roleplay as Ratchet, that is so excellent! I love that game series. i want to 'Play as a game character, I just don't know which yet!

 

Yeah, it was a few years ago but damn, it was so fun. Mmm, there's so much choice. I'm sure you'll find someone.

 

I run an L RP Blog on Tumblr, and I love RPing as him. It is kind of annoying when the kawaii scene girls spam my ask box with "L i love u!!!!!!" shit. :////

I would love to RP as someone I can be really light-hearted with, but I can't really think of anyone I would be good with.

 

I don't think I've ever played as a character not my own. I think the only exception was my favourite skin from Ratchet Gladiator, and that guy wasn't even a character. He has a two-sentence backstory and a really cool design but I think that made it lean more towards creating a new character with him.

I've never thought using a canon character was very appealing because I like to use my own ideas and I don't think I could accurately represent someone else's character.

 

I actually find it fun to play as Canon characters once in a while. It's always interesting to see how people view the character and make them act. Sometimes they're a little OC. But it happens.

Multiverse RP would be cool to see. I've been in a few before and some of them just end up being so funny or very intense. I could go into some stories about characters meeting up with others. But I'd end up writing a novel. :'B

I am up for the possibility of playing as one in RPs.

 

It seems there's interest in this. You guys wanna set up an RP?

We pick a character (any character) and maybe have him/her travel the world. There could be battles, tournaments, friendships/teams could be formed and every few stages we could choose another character to add to your team?

Or if you guys want Pokémon themed. Our characters are transported to the world of Pokémon and to leave they need to become the Pokémon champion. Along the way they'll form a pkm team, battle against each other (either with their Pokémon or as themselves), meet other trainers that can join your group and blahblahblah?

I'm not very familiar with how to RP outside my usual forum (I use a lot of gifs and dialogue but you guys seem more text and description based). But I wouldn't mind trying out the Pokémon method since I've never done one before

 

If we go the Pokémon route, I'll be happy to play my version of Brock

 

If something non-Pokémon related were to be cooked up, I'd be all over it. <3

Naruto site I was on some years ago; I multi-tasked as Jiraiya, Kankuro, Kakashi, and Tobi (back when he was a lovable dork of unknown origins).

Teen Titans: I've done Blackfire, Cyborg, and Fixit.

Fixit was one of the better characters on that show who never got another appearance

I've never really rp'd seriously, but whenever I do, it's always some version or another of Dawn/Hikari (either as a bright ray of sunshine, an ice queen, or just a yandere queen of ghosts) o u o

I've done a fair share of role-playing in the Hetalia fandom as various characters. Though I'm possibly good at characters like Vash Zwingli (Switzerland from Hetalia) and Antonio (Spain from Hetalia). With Pokémon, I've been Rping Winona, mostly gameverse.

 

I've actually done quite a bit of this mostly as Vin from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn Trilogy. It was mainly in a trio of forum RPs collectively known as the Universal Warrior Tournament (UWT) on a now defuct site called CBUB and and RP room known as CIty of Shadows . It all worked into one conyinuity and I really made her my own. Sadly it fell a[art.

 

The only two characters I roleplayed as once before who are canon are Yashiro Isana from K project and Kudari from Pokémon. Overall I loved RPing them! I liked using them because they're both pretty favorited characters of mine, and I haven't really been comfortable roleplaying any others. These two just fit!
