Which video game(s) left you genuinely sad after you had finished a playthrough of?

The ending doesn't necessarily have to be sad in nature; I'm mainly talking about a feeling of emptiness you might have felt upon reaching the end.

For me, it would be Xenoblade Chronicles~
    Experiencing all of the amazingly colorful characters (especially in the party), the world, and all that time spent on that grand adventure made me cheer and tear up when it was all over ;u;

It is the only game so far to have made me cry upon completion

Xenoblade Chronicles is such a fun game and the characters are just the best! :)

Basically any game where I get attached to the characters and story I'm sad to see end. This especially happens with visual novel type games like Ace Attorney and Hotel Dusk Room 215.

LoZ: Twilight Princess, that ending with Midna and just the sheer fact that I loved the game so much had me heartbroken when I finished it...

The World Ends With You, even though there is more Post-game content I felt sad that the story was over, but also happy for all the characters.

Probably the ending of PMD: Explorers made me cry. While I was once again grateful that there was Post-game, the main story was beautiful.

The only game that has ever made me cry simply because it ended, not because of any actual sad content, was Journey. I was watching the ending and smiling at the amazing graphics, generally having a good time, when Shiny had a sudden realization that brought everyone in the room who had been watching to tears.

    Spoilers, btw.

At the very end of the game, the main character is sent back to the same place he was at the start and you have the chance to play through the game again. I didn't get it at first. I sat there and muttered, "Why'd I get sent back? I beat the game."

At this point, Shiny, who had been watching me play it, sat bolt upright with realization. "I get it!" she cried. "The game is called Journey. You get sent back to the start because that's just it: it's all about the Journey!"

I can't describe what followed as anything other than an extremely emotional moment. The game suddenly seemed to have a completely new light to it that I can't really describe. It's one of those things that you had to have played the game yourself to understand. Yes, I cried. I was touched by the profoundness of the game in that simple, sweet way that it portrayed a journey.

The entire Zelda series basically. It was especially sad to see Navi go in OoT. I actually like her character; contrary to popular opinion. Watching her slowly flutter away out that Temple of Time window... man.

This is a bit specific, but I was sad to see the Pokémon X/Y post-game Looker arc end. I was enjoying getting to know the characters and after Looker went away I missed them very much.

Ones that got me teary-eyed; Infamous 2 (Evil ending), Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch, Asura's Wrath (one or two moments towards the end, in the 'true ending' DLC capcom made you buy...)

And not really a game but heavily game related; Assassin's Creed: Embers.

    Ezioooo noooo!

I was really sad to finish Fire Emblem Awakening. Even though I played it about 4 times more since then, there is nothing like that ending and how I felt afterwards. Seriously, nothing. Best ending. EVER.

Earthbound. This was a really fun game and it was really sad to know that the journey was over. In particular, Ness having to say goodbye to all the friends he has made, especially Paula.

In general, walking through Earthbound's world and escorting Paula home was a really sad moment for me. Of course, seeing the world back to normal was great, but it's so heart warming and rending at the same time. I was really sad to see it go. All the while, the beautiful "Because I Love You" plays in the backround, in almost every part of the game's world.

Well for one I got sad at when I ended the Assassin's Creed Desmond saga storyline. It was sad to also see the character Ezio die off as it was one of my favorite Characters. Other games that made me sad when it ended include Fire Emblem, and a few of the Ace Attorney titles. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon was also a title that tends to be a bit saddening at times.

Rune Factory 4. When I ran out of things to do in that game I was so sad. I played it for months and it was one of the first games that had me hooked right from the start. Loveable characters, an amazing and long storyline...you just can't beat it. I want a Rune Factory 4 even if they did go bankrupt. :(

This! I was attached to the game for a whole long month - all I ever did was wake up and play all day, only stopping for eating and sleeping. It was an amazing game. ;w; Took me a while to beat but when I did I just felt so.. empty. Made new files and got through all of those too so once they were all complete it was rough to find a way to replace that hole in my heart, lol.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days... I liked the game so much and the ending was a bit sad....

I played the game many many times over and over again just because Game mechanics and the story of kingdom hearts is amazing.

Tho i am glad that the story continues, but sadly not with the battle mechanics of this game ;s
