Fanfiction SAVAGE MONS FANFIC COMING SOON

So... as I'm sure some of you may remember, I once made a list of a bunch of Pokémon that I thought were cute that no one else did. Said list included Pokémon such as Swampert, Feraligatr, Greninja and Hydreigon. Well, I decided to put them all in the form of a fanfic dedicated entirely to... geek culture? Yep, this is SAVAGE MONS-- and yes, it's in all-caps and bolded-- a Pokémon fanfic that is basically a crossover with every single geek convention ever made. It tells the story of Savage, a Swampert who was abandoned by his Trainer on account of the name he's had since birth. His Trainer thought he was named Savage because he was a savage Pokémon... but nope, he was actually named for ADAM Savage of the Mythbusters, and he's just as geeky and fun as his namesake, with a huge interest in sci-fi, Mythbusters, and Star Wars.

He just wants someone to tell it to.

Desperate for companionship, he decides to go out and find some friends-- and he finds five of them. They include Hogan, a sensitive Feraligatr; Draggy, a kind and gentle Hydreigon who loves to play with puppets; Grekko, a free-spirited and fun-loving Greninja; X-L, an intelligent and silly Magnezone who believes he has a clown nose instead of a third eye; and Ham, a theatrical and- well, hammy Inteleon. And the best part? They’re all geeks of some kind: Hogan loves music, Draggy is a fan of puppets and ventriloquism, Grekko loves the arts (film, TV, and movies), Ham is fond of the theatre, and X-L is into a variety of things, including Monty Python, DND, anime, the Japanese language, art (as in paintings), and video games. Ergo, the friends decide to form a geek group known as SAVAGE MONS-- and what ultimately ends up happening is a slew of geeky adventures you don’t want to miss. Among the stuff that I have written down for ideas:

• Reenactments of scenes from classic movies-- scratch that, reenactments and parodies of classic movies in general
• CONVENTIONS AND LOTS OF THEM
• TONS of geek research
• Museum visits
• Collaborations, teachings, and nerd builds
• DND GAMES
• Monty Python references out the wazoo
• Getting sucked into books, movies, and video games

And so, so much more. The best part? YOU, the readers, get to contribute specific chapter ideas to this fic, because in some way or another, every one of us is a giant geek for something. And in this crazy time where nobody can really go to conventions or play DND, this could very well serve as an alternative until everything gets back to normal. With that said, look out for a further look into the six main cast members of SAVAGE MONS coming soon, and more importantly-- look out for Chapters 1-- and later 2-- of the fic!

Here it is-- the character list for the upcoming SAVAGE MONS fic! Featuring info regarding all six major characters-- their names, their personalities, and their geeky interests!

Savage-- A cheerful, geeky, and childlike Swampert who serves as the main character of the fic and the leader and founder of the titular geek group. Abandoned by his Trainer as a Mudkip, Savage eventually learns to survive on his own in the real world, and quickly develops a fascination for Star Wars, Mythbusters, and all things sci-fi. In terms of personality, Savage is just as much fun as his namesake Mythbuster-- talking to inanimate objects, repeatedly breaking the fourth wall, and having a level of enthusiasm and passion for his interests that surpasses even Grekko. Of course, Savage naturally talks a mile a minute... but sometimes doesn't know when to stop.
His geek interest: As mentioned previously, sci-fi of any kind (including Star Wars and Star Trek), Mythbusters, and any kind of science-based YouTube channels, books, or movies.

Hogan-- Savage's first-- and best-- friend, and a sensitive and worrisome Feraligatr named after Paul Hogan, the actor who played Crocodile Dundee in the film of the same name. Hogan isn't comfortable with battling-- or anything that looks like it-- and as such tries to avoid conflict as much as possible. He is very prone to bursting into tears, whether due to someone dying in either real life or in a movie, arguing amongst his friends-- or anyone else, for that matter-- or seeing battle or direct conflict of any kind. Fortunately, however, he has Savage to cheer him up and Draggy to comfort him, along with all of his other friends, and despite his demeanor, he will always be there for his friends when need be.
His geek interest: Music-- specifically, and somewhat surprisingly, rock music, most notably classic rock and prog rock from the 70's and 80's. The only metal band he likes is Disturbed.

Draggy-- A docile Hydreigon who is very good with children and loves playing with his head-hands as though they are sock puppets. He is named after Ghidorah, but with the syllables switched in Japanese-- instead of Gidora, Draggy's Japanese name, when transliterated, is Doragi. Draggy is pretty much the exact opposite of any stereotypes surrounding his species-- he's gentle, sweet, and modest whereas most Hydreigon want nothing more than to tear the world to shreds and attack whatever they see. More often than not he can be seen playing with first-stage Pokémon, comforting Hogan, or putting on puppet shows. More or less, he's the Pokémon version of Mr. Rogers-- until he starts geeking out over puppets.
His geek interest: Puppetry and ventriloquism, including the Muppets, Sesame Street, the Jimmy Nelson ventrecords, Star Wars, and any and all pieces of media featuring puppets or ventriloquists.

Grekko-- A happy-go-lucky, carefree Greninja whose excitability is only matched by Savage. His name comes from a combination of GREninja, GeKKOuga (Greninja's Japanese name), and the word "gecko"-- even though Greninja is a frog Pokémon. Similar to Savage, Grekko has a huge passion for his interests-- which in this case are the fine arts-- specifically literature, movies, and TV shows. He can rattle off trivia in the span of a single second, loves to sing songs from Disney films, and has read the Hobbit about 72 times from front to back. While he can be a bit lazy sometimes, he usually, if not always, prefers to look on the bright side of things. His favorite food? Donuts-- because they look like rings. As in... never mind.
His geek interest: As mentioned before, literature, movies, and TV-- specifically, the Lord of the Rings franchise (guess why), Disney movies, and cult films (including "so bad it's good" movies).

X-L-- A very silly, if very intelligent, Magnezone. Unlike the rest of the members of the titular geek group, X-L (Excel) is into a variety of different things, including Monty Python's Flying Circus and Dungeons and Dragons. He's likely the least sane member of the group and repeatedly makes a bunch of non-sequiturs, references, and Japanese sentences that nobody else in the group can understand. He also repeatedly insists that his third eye is actually a red clown nose, and only Grekko agrees with him. Despite his silliness and density, however, X-L is genuinely intelligent, and knows a lot about the subjects that interest him. And, of course, he also serves as a Dungeon Master.
His geek interests: Monty Python, Dungeons and Dragons, anime, the Japanese language, and video games. Lots and lots of video games.

And finally...

Ham-- A theatrical and... well, hammy Inteleon with round eyes, no eyelids, and an absolute love for one thing and one thing only: the theatre. He is more or less every single theatre fan in a nutshell-- he analyzes motifs and themes in plays and musicals, he enjoys singing theatre songs to himself, and he has an immense love of Shakespeare-- in contrast to Grekko, who out and out hates him. He also is the most sane member of the group by far, often making hammily snarky commentary regarding certain films, music, TV shows, and theatrical plays. He will also call out the rest of the group for their incessant gushing-- even though the hypocrisy of those statements are obvious.
His geek interest: ...plays and musical theatre. Need I say more?
