Seasons songs

Last year I jokingly put Mariah Carey on repeat for the holidays. Before I knew it, I'd already listened to it over 70 times. The rest of the Christmas songs are mostly trash though, in my opinion.

I love the older classic christmas carols, like O Holy Night, Silver Bells, I heard the Bells on Christmas Day, all the hymns. And You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.
One song will always put tears in my eyes, it's Christmas Shoes.

 

I don't mind Christmas songs, but I don't like to hear them all day or a few weeks before Christmas is actually here. I mean, I already wake up with Christmas songs playing on the radio from my alarm clock. So yeah, I already felt like breaking my radio a few days ago. I guess I'll have to endure it for a few more weeks...

I hate christmas music. Period. I worked in a department store for three winters, and their musical selection was worse than even the usual stuff. I'm talking obscure knockoffs of famous songs, hyper-religious Gregorian chants in freaking Latin, exceedingly-goofy kid songs, and pretty much every other kind that that's not 'good' enough to get on the radio even. There was about three hours of music, which is surprising considering how weird and obscure it all was, and also pretty brutal because I had to hear the same brain-melting songs 2-3 times each workday.

There is one, I repeat, one christmas song that I like. Behold, and bow down before it.

 

If it's not Trans-Siberian Orchestra, chances are high I don't care to listen to it. I find a lot of Christmas music tedious and repetitive; it doesn't help that my dad's a huge Christmas music fan, and will play Christmas music on the stereo any chance he gets.

I honestly don't remember if we have two or all three of the TSO's "Christmas Trilogy" albums, but I really like their Chistmas albums (thankfully, Dad likes listening to them too). This one is probably my favorite:

I don't mind some Christmas songs, but I draw the line at goofy novelty songs and too many versions of the same song.

I enjoy "Jingle Bell Rock", and the entire Charlie Brown Christmas suite of songs.
My favorite for Christmas though, would have to be:
"Snoopy's Christmas" from the Royal Guardsmen

 

We have carol singing compition every year so i can say i sing Christmas carols but not often. The carols i sang are go and tell it to the mountains, jingle bells, joy to the world and angels we have heard on high. I sang feliz navidat also.

 

I work at walmart. I love christmas music, just not the rehashed crap they put on a randomized loop over the radio. Some times I hear a song 5 times in a day, sometimes pretty dang closed to 15. I do love how we have a lot of pentatonics, but I'm getting sick of it now. I personally preffer funny parodies, TSO, believe from the polar express, some pentatonics, and of course my 2 favorites, leeroy the redneck raindeer and the night santa went crazy because honestly this whole thing of commercialism at this time drives me to the brink of insanity and I need something to laugh at or not take seriously so I don't lose it. Christmas is supposed to be about the joy of one another and about family being together and having a good time making cherished memories, not black friday and sales at stores out the wazzu. Carols are a great way to spread cheer which is why I love them, that and it's always fun to mess them up so that you can make others laugh and have a good time. Sorry for the rant. Christmas should always be a family holiday regardless of what religion you are.
