Serena has finally figured out her goal and is capturing her first Pokémon next week. What character development would you like to see from her? What other Pokémon will she capture? What will her be he specialty as a Performer?

Well from what can i see in a couple of weeks she will participate in her first contest.

And now which Pokémon maybe she will capture?
Maybe a Spritzee than maybe going to evolve to Aromatisse, since its a good Pokémon for the Perfomer Pokémon.
Also a grass type but im unsure which one for the moment.

I want her to understand that this adventure is a lot more than what she actually thinks/expects, and to understand more about what makes Pokémon special or why they become your friends.

Ooh, she's actually going to catch a new Pokémon? Nice! I'm really curious to see how she's going to develop further.

Serena really could use some development right about now. I'll be watching to see how the producers go about doing it.

(I should really catch up on the anime...)

Serena's Pancham is absolutely precious! Plus, Serena actually pursued it on her own without the assistance of the gang.

She even had the glasses this entire time. <3

She's getting another character episode in a few weeks, too! I'm so excited, my princess' time has come!

After bw I have no expectations. I do hope she at least catches three more Pokémon that is all I hope for.

I was so ready to love Serena when XY started... don't get me wrong, I still like her, but the way they handled her so far was a bit disappointing.
I loved how during the first 4 gens the girl role got bigger and bigger. Dawn got to be an equal star to Ash with her own plot, following May who seemed like the prototype to her, who followed Misty who was just a sidekick. You'd imagine that gen 5 would make the girl of the group a starring character on the same level as Dawn if not even further improve on it, but nope. Ever since the BW series the girl role is limited to just a sidekick again and sadly Serena is suffering from it.
It was nice to see her feeling lost without a dream and eventually find a goal, but they honestly stretched it for too long. It's interesting in theory maybe, and it's something a lot of viewers could relate to (I also find myself to be very goal-less in life so I felt bad for her being lost too.) but it was just kind of boring to watch. She's the first main cast member in this show that took a ridiculously long time to even just catch a Pokémon. (I mean seriously, over 40 eps?!)

Anyway, she finally caught a Pokémon and has some form of goal so that's nice. But then again, this whole Pokémon Showcase thing feels like a very cheap knock-off of the Pokémon Contests. Serena should've been a Pokémon Coordinator doing Contests, not a Pokémon Performer doing Showcases that are pretty much the performance part of the Contests...
I really wish they kept the idea of a starring girl doing Contests for good, but sadly they insist on avoiding this, even at the cost of doing something suspiciously similar. It feels as if they WANTED Serena to be a Coordinator, but some of the higher ups didn't want a starring girl in the show again, so they made up a dumbed-down version of it for her...

I won't even be surprised if at the end of the XY series, after possibly becoming the Kalos Queen, they'll have Serena learn about Contests and decide that's what she's gonna do next, but of course we'll never actually see it happen since that's when she'll leave the show...
Oh well, still looking forward for the Pokémon Showcase eps to see how exactly they play out. I guess it's better than have her do nothing for the rest of the series.
