As in, writing ideas! I had an idea where the MC supposedly dies in an accident- only to find out he didn't because, well, he can't die. He's taken to a school with people like him, people with odd and mysterious powers, although in reality it's just a ploy... so share yours!
Not here with any writing ideas, but, sorry if this is a stupid question, but what the heck does MC stand for?! edit: pfft not even a second after hitting "post" i realized it meant "main character." good job, self.
You know how everyone hates the mary sue type characters? I'm kind of rolling with it, though not really, and making a character for one of my books who could technically be considered a mary sue but is kind of supposed to be because that character is a god. The reason I say "not really" is because this character actually dies before the book starts and no one would ever kill a mary sue or deprive them of screen time. Wow even writing this out it sounds kind of terrible. I promise this actually works. Mainly because this character is in no way the main character.
That actually sounds pretty interesting! It's a good way to kind of mix up what everyone is used to and put a unique twist on mary sue's!
I had a very interesting dream about a character exiled because of a misunderstanding and accidental murder. Sounds overused, but I still want to try writing it at some point, maybe as a novella.
I did something like that once for a character I played in a Dragon Age roleplaying game. The twist was that she was framed for a murder, but then ended up actually killing someone in self defense after that person went after her for the first murder she didn't commit. After that she ran off in self-exile and lived essentially as a fugitive before becoming a Templar.
I am suddenly reminded of a series of animations based on the SCP Foundation, about a character almost exactly like this. The main character of said animation is just a normal guy but every time he dies, he comes back in another body and remembers everything that just happened. He's imprisoned in the facility and is used as a test dummy for dangerous tests and experiments, which kills him a lot. And as one might imagine, he often thinks "screw this" and wants to get out, but at the same time the facility needs him to conduct these important experiments for the sake of the world and all that, so he's conflicted. Though, this is a main character who's died multiple times and has pretty much grown used to it. If your main character has only died once, something like that would probably scar them forever, especially if they're quite young. That is if they remember what just happened to them prior to death, pain and all. Just something to consider, I guess.
I had an idea for a Pokémon story that I'll probably never write because I want to work on my original work. The idea is loosely based on the Kalos story and area. Basically, when the main cannon fired, there was a group of Pokémon warriors (probably a good hundred) who were encased in crystal far below the earth. These Pokemon lay dormant for thousands of years, sorta like rocks and gems, they were cultivated, pressurized and grew into something different. In Pokémon terms, this means they became stronger and became shiny Pokémon. These Pokémon also gained a crystal like appearance. They were designed to be super soldiers to fight in a war that was predicted to happen thousands of years in the future (from modern Pokémon times) but one woke up early. These crystal Pokémon guardians, the carbink and Diancie had a bad year in the crystal harvest. They decided that the only way to survive was to take crystals from their scared crystal vain, i.e. the place they were supposed to protect. They wound up digging out one of these super Pokémon prematurely and although this Pokémon was woken up early (ie not as powerful as woke up on time), she is still stronger than most Pokémon alive. The Pokémon they dug up was a Shiny Sylveon (since all gem Pokémon are shiny). This was about as far as I got in my idea. I have no plot made up except maybe one with an evil organization making artificial shines but I'm not too fond of the idea. Overall, I like the set up but am probably not going to get around to fleshing it out more or doing it which is unfortunate. I love the concept though.
