Shinies, Bred, chained, or Random Encounter?

Well since I've never had the opportunity to breed or chain (despite trying) it's a nice reward for training to encounter a unexpected shiny

 

I try to breed for shinies every once in a while, but I easily get bored with it and go do something else. I utterly suck at chaining, so that's not an option either. I get most of my shinies from random encounters, although I also look for shinies in the Safari Zone, so not-so-random encounters as well xD

 

Shinies are everywhere except in my game, it's not that I'm really searching for them, but I have only ever found one shiny myself. Shinies that you aren't searching for are the best ones though, because they really surprise you. But I can imagine that finally getting that shiny that you searched for for so long can be really satisfying as well.

 

Shiny Pokémon are best when they come out in the wild out of nowhere. Although they usually won't have very good IVs (except in a Friend Safari), you still get more satisfaction out of them than you would if you were just doing a monotonous task like breeding or chaining.

 

Personally, I love any method of getting a shiny (minus hacking, that's just plain wrong), and each has its different forms of satisfaction:

Breeding makes you feel like you earned that shiny, as well as with chaining. Random encounters are a pleasant surprise, and it always feels great to be lucky enough to find a wild shiny!

Currently, I'm actually breeding for a shiny Weedle, so fingers crossed! This'll be my first masuda shiny (I always failed before now, but I will try once more!)

 

I have gotten most of mine through breeding, but the occasional thrill of getting them in the wild is amazing.
