Shinies

After 200 hordes, I had almost given up looking for my favorite Pokémon in shiny form, Gligar. (Gliscor is my fave but obv I need it to get Gliscor) but instead of giving up, I took to breeding and on egg number 42 I got THIS LITTLE FUCKER



She has an awful nature, but god I LOVE HER and she's going on my soon to be Sinnoh team. I also have a shiny Gible on Black 2 from Slugkid so these two can be together in harmony. Both my favorite Pokémon in shiny form...and it feels good.

 

I found my fourth Shiny today in a Friend Safari: Abra. I consider myself extra lucky because the Quick Ball got a Critical Capture. All Abra has is Teleport, so if the ball had failed, as 3-check Quick Balls can sometimes do, well, that would have been awful. I would have been sour. But it didn't, and I have myself a shiny Abra, who right now is a Kadabra, and since it has an acceptable nature will some day be a Mega Alakazam.

I still have not caught a shiny. But...something really bad happened, yesterday, and one of my best friends traded me a Pokémon.



He's not a Trevanant, or Gliscor, or Ralts....but y'know what? I don't care. After everything that's happened, this month....after all the loss and heartache....this Dunsparce was a small gift from a friend, but something I'll always treasure.

 

Between random encounters and chain fishing, I've had ridiculous luck with shinies in X so far. I've been keeping a list of the ones I find, and I've encountered nearly 30 so far. Here's the list in order from first to latest-

Out of those, I only have about half with me at the moment. I usually trade away ones that I know other people want, or ones that I don't plan on using. Still, I love all the ones I've encountered so far, they're awesome. These two are probably my favorites out of the bunch, though-

Today I finally got my favorite Pokémon, Sandslash as a shiny. I traded my shiny Alakzam for it, which was well worth it to me. I'm very happy with it.

 

Someone gave away their shiny Oddish via Wonder Trade and I got it. It's Lonely natured which is not that great but it's better than Adamant, at least.

 

Found a shiny Larvesta in the friend Safari today after a long time of hunting.

 

There is no question about it: the shiny encounter rate is higher in Friend Safaris. I found two there previously, and today I found a shiny Nincada there after maybe an hour. Upon evolution the Shedinja is also listed as shiny too, with the red star and its own "Shiny" form image in the Pokédex. However, it looks no different from the normal one. Definitely the worst shiny there is. But, I can't complain, because at least I got two shinies for the price of one.

 

After a lot of eggs, I finally got a shiny Adamant Bulletproof Chespin!

 

Wow, some of you guys have found a lot! I wish we knew whether or not tipping npcs increases the odds.

Shinies I've found in X so far:

Relicanth - fishing chain of 23
Horsea - fishing chain of 68
Shuckle - safari...like 6th or 7th encounter

 

This is my day for shinies it seems like, because I just found another one: Mightyena. This feels like redemption, because last year while playing Emerald on a ROM I found a shiny Poochyena as my second or third encounter in the entire game. But being a ROM, it was stuck there forever. Now I've got one again, and it feels great.

 

After 156 Eggs, I obtained the shiny Mawile I really really wanted! Perfect Attack IV, Adamant nature... YEAH

 

I just caught my 30th shiny in X! It's a Skarmory, and while it's not one of my favorites, its shiny form looks pretty cool. I took a picture of her in Amie to show off her wings (which usually aren't visible in the sprite)-

 

I have Stoutland and Ninetales so far ^^ I just happened to find Stoutland (didn't want it) but I was searching for Ninetales for a while and finally got it

 

I am normally optimistic about things. But... I highly doubt I will ever find a shiny in this game. I haven't found one since Silver and Gold. (The original ones.) So i highly doubt I will obtain one in this game. At least not by trading and hacking.

 

Aww, you shouldn't give up yet! I'm usually really unlucky with Shinies, but I've found a few so far. You just never know, I guess. Maybe you'll get lucky.

So I've been searching the Safari for a shiny Ivysaur for a while since Bulbasaur's my favorite starter. Then I gave up and decided to try out the Masuda method since I have a Japanese Ditto. I wasn't expecting anything to actually come from it, but after 25 eggs, literally just as my clock chimed midnight, I got it! He's now a snazzy Venasaur now: (sorry, don't know how to change the image size)






His stats really suck (Calm nature with perfect Att, 0 Spd, 0 HP) but I don't care.

 

Found a shiny Forretress and Wartwortle today. Super happy about them!

 

I finally got a shiny Chespin after around 300 eggs. Its nature is Adamant and has a perfect Attack IV. I don't know about the other stats but who cares, it's a shiny!

I tried to hatch these eggs all day yesterday it was so worth it.

 

Finally picked up my first shiny in the wild yesterday. It was a Zubat.
