Should Law rule Life?

So LITERALLY an hour ago, the Indonesian government directly executed via firing squad 8 out of 9 foreigners for apparent "drug smuggling". Despite the pressure from all around the world, the Indonesian government refused to back down, because according to their laws, drug smuggling is punishable by execution.
