Showdowns of Valor 2.0 Team Suggestions
That's right everyone, Showdowns of Valor is back and better than ever!

Showdowns of Valor WAS a series I started in association with Lake Valor on my YouTube channel. You guys supported me for a solid 4 months. I cannot thank you enough for all of that support, and so it wasn't easy for me to end the series due to fatigue, but now I'm back and with the help of @[member="Gengar's Grin"], I've completely revamped the show. I am also pleased to announce that the series will now be hosted on Lake Valor's official YouTube channel.

This new version of SoV includes a bigger focus on the LV Community with new features such as:

    Co-Commentary
The series now has dual commentary with me and @[member="Gengar's Grin"]. Having two commentators will help to add diversity and make sure I don't get silent like I normally do when I battle.

    Tournaments
Self-Explanatory. Basically every once and a while we host and record a tournament on the LV Showdown Server. The tournament can be any tier, and standard Smogon rules apply. There are also wonderful prizes in store for contestants. These prizes are:
    First Place
1,500 Pokepoints and a Tournament Winner Medal
    Second Place
    750 Pokepoints
    Third Place
    500 Pokepoints
    Challenges
Members can suggest one challenge per week, along with who they want to perform the challenge. Anyone with a name glow can suggest two. Once we get at least 8 challenges per week, we use an RNG app to determine which challenge is the winner. These challenges can be things like: no items, no mega evolving, no STAB moves, etc. All challenges are optional and do not have to be performed, but can be performed to spice things up a bit.

    Volunteers
All credit goes to @[member="Gengar's Grin"] for coming up with this one. Now, when you suggest a team and challenge, you can also choose whether or not you want to be randomly selected as an opponent to be fought on the LV Showdown Server. We will have at least one volunteer every other week. Whoever gets selected will be contacted by me in a PM.

The way I will select teams will be the same way I did it in the old version of SoV. Once a week, I will take a competitive team that you guys suggest here, and use it on Pokémon Showdown. I will be accepting teams of any tier (OU, Ubers, etc.), so any team is eligible for this series. I will then pick the Top 4 teams I think are the most unique or interesting, and then once a week, you guys will vote as to which one will be used in the video.

    Rules for Suggesting Teams
    1. You must specify what tier your team is for.
    2. You must provide a Specific Ability, Nature, EV Spread, and Moveset for each Pokémon on your team, as well as provide a brief synopsis as to each Pokémon's role on your team.
    3. You may only suggest one team each week.
    4. You cannot suggest the same team as someone else, or a team that has already been used.
    5. If you suggest a team for any week, you are required to vote when it is time to do so. This is to prevent me from picking 4 teams and having no one provide input as to which one I should use.
    6. You may not vote for your own team.

Have fun, and try to be creative with your teams!
I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys will come up with!

    - Sludge Bomb
    - Vacuum Wave
    - Shadow Ball

My LC team, Surskit is your lead with Toxic to break sturdy-juicers like Onix and Geodude as well has having Sticky Web for obvious reasons, Pawniard is your revenge killer and anti-abra/gastly, Gastly works better then pumpkaboo in this case as a spinblocker thanks to Pumpkaboo not having good synergy with the rest of the team (this is because Gastly can lure in Pawniard and Abra who the respective partners can deal with), feel free to change though to what you see fit. Drillbur keeps hazards off your side and sets up the lovely rocks which limits Fletchling from coming in too many times. Timburr and Croagunk are there for Fighting spam to check opposing steels and Pawniard who can benefit from the sticky web.

    Also i'd gladly battle you!

Well I look forward into seeing you and GG play on Showdown every week. I'm excited that this is back and I'm here with a team suggestion for you.

    Tier OU:

    Kilgharrah (Charizard-Mega-X) (M) @ Charizardite X
    Ability: Blaze
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Dragon Dance
    - Dragon Claw
    - Fire Punch
    - Earthquake

    Slytherin (Serperior) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Contrary
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Leaf Storm
    - Giga Drain
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Hidden Power [Fire]

    Rotom-Washington (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
    Bold Nature
    - Volt Switch
    - Hydro Pump
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Pain Split

    Versace (Jirachi) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Serene Grace
    EVs: 252 HP / 176 SpD / 80 Spe
    Careful Nature
    - Stealth Rock
    - Iron Head
    - U-turn
    - Body Slam

    CHARGED UP (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Pressure
    EVs: 248 HP / 64 Def / 180 SpD / 16 Spe
    Calm Nature
    - Volt Switch
    - Roost
    - Defog
    - Hidden Power [Ice]

    Mufasa (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Scarf
    Ability: Intimidate
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Knock Off
    - U-turn
    - Earthquake
    - Stone Edge

So this is just a fun team I made. It's just basically two strong attackers (Zard X DD+3 attacks and LO Serp) and a bunch of Volt-Turn action. Zard X is here basically to set up and sweep. DClaw for STAB, Fire Punch is STAB and doesn't have the recoil of Flare Blitz but is significantly weaker. Earthquake for Heatrans. This is basically an XY set.

Serperior is there to provide a strong SpAtk presence. Basic set

Rotom-W is a Physical wall. Basically the only Weavile check on the team so..let's hope you don't see any Weaviles :). It provides momentum with Volt Switch and can WoW.

Jirachi is there to set up rocks and is the Specially bulky mon. And it has U-Turn to get things in freely.

Zapdos is there to provide Defog because this team tends to switch a lot. It has overall bulk and Volt Switch for momentum.

Lando-T is the Scarfer so it can get rid of the checks and counters to Serp and Zard. Has U-Turn because this team is Ultimate Volt-Turn.

Feel free to change anything you want cause this team is kind of bad imo. You can have Lando and Jirachi switch roles so you have another check to Weavile (Kind of, not really). No challenges this week but I would like to be a volunteer depending on what day you're doing this since I have school starting next week.

May as well suggest a team. I've been using it for a while and it's done pretty well, even if some things could probably be better.

    Tier: UU

    Haxorus @ Lum Berry
    Ability: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Earthquake
    - Poison Jab
    - Dragon Claw
    - Dragon Dance

This guy sweeps, and he does it well. Lum berry lets you dd for free if they send out a status Pokémon, and it's got nice coverage.

    Espeon @ Leftovers
    Ability: Magic Bounce
    EVs: 252 SpA / 128 SpD / 128 Spe
    - Calm Mind
    - Stored Power
    - Signal Beam
    - Yawn

Another set up sweeper, using calm mind/stored power. Signal beam is for dark types, and yawn is to either set up or force a switch.

    Aerodactyl @ Aerodactylite
    Ability: Pressure
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Fire Fang
    - Ice Fang
    - Rock Slide
    - Thunder Fang

This team's mega, it pretty much speaks for itself. Hits hard and fast, and can hit lots of things. Rock slide over stone edge because I have terrible miss luck.

    Azelf @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Explosion
    - Knock Off
    - Stealth Rock
    - Reflect

The rock setter of this team, with explosion for sheer power. I also have knock off in case they try to predict an explosion, and reflect just for the fact that it's helpful.

    Galvantula @ Air Balloon
    Ability: Compound Eyes
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Thunder
    - Sticky Web
    - Bug Buzz
    - Giga Drain

The other hazard setter on this team, sticky web aids both espeon and haxorus in their respective setups. Thunder is for power since compoundeyes makes accuracy much better, bug buzz is stab, and giga drain for coverage and healing.

    Rotom-Heat @ Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 128 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Pain Split
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Thunderbolt
    - Hidden Power [Ice]

The obligatory rotom. Pain split and will o wisp are to be annoying and survive longer, thunderbolt is good stab, and hp ice is for coverage and somewhat surprise for those expecting overheat in this set.

I'd be absolutely fine with volunteering to be an opponent. I'll try to give a good battle for yah!

Voting for Episode 2 has officially begun! The reason this is Episode 2 is because @[member="Gengar's Grin"] and I already recorded the first episode of the series in advance to see what dual commentary would be like. As a result, this is technically Episode 2.

The following people submitted teams for episode 2 and are REQUIRED to vote:

    @[member="Bionic Puppy"]
    @[member="UltraHaxorus"]
    @[member="shinygiratinaz"]

Good luck, and may the best team win!

Im still not exactly that great at teambuilding, so I'll just propose a challenge for now:

One of the Pokémon you end up using has to run something vastly different than it's regular sets. Like Special Attacking Conkeldurr or Defensive Lucario. (Just as some examples :P)

The winner of the poll was @[member="Bionic Puppy"]'s LC Team! Congratulations! The randomly selected volunteer for this episode will be @[member="shinygiratinaz"]. For all those wondering how I'm selecting volunteers, I simply assign each volunteer a number and use a random number generator.

@[member="Gengar's Grin"] and I will record the episode later today or sometime this week. Thanks to everyone who voted! I'll begin accepting submissions for episode 3 once episode 2 is up.

UPDATE: Episode 2 is up now! You can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GgE93vJIdU. Submissions for episode 3, be they teams or challenges will now be accepted! We will not be accepting volunteers this week, as we only fight volunteers every other week.

Don't Care (Garchomp) @ Rocky Helmet
    Ability: Rough Skin
    EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 76 SpD / 16 Spe
    Impish Nature
    - Stealth Rock
    - Earthquake
    - Dragon Tail
    - Toxic

    Forever Tonight (Starmie) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure
    EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Scald
    - Rapid Spin
    - Recover
    - Psyshock

    Firebird (Talonflame) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Gale Wings
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
    Careful Nature
    - Brave Bird
    - Roost
    - Taunt
    - Will-O-Wisp

    Water (Rotom-Wash) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 248 HP / 160 Def / 100 SpD
    Bold Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Volt Switch
    - Hydro Pump
    - Will-O-Wisp
    - Pain Split

    Runaway (U & I) (Gardevoir) @ Gardevoirite
    Ability: Trace
    EVs: 24 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Hyper Voice
    - Psyshock
    - Focus Blast
    - Taunt

In My Head (Lucario) @ Life Orb
    Ability: Justified
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Swords Dance
    - Close Combat
    - Extreme Speed
    - Iron Tail

Here's a cool balanced team that I build around Lucario and Mega Gardevoir. The team looks extremely threatening from Team Preview, and is much more devastating in battle. Garchomp is the Pokémon you'll be leading with 90% of the time. Everyone knows what Tankchomp does, so no need to go in-depth further. Starmie is a bulky spinner and the teams main Starmie counter. Bulky Talonflame gives me solid checks to Mega Altaria, Bisharp, and Gengar, among other threats. Rotom-W is my counter to Talonflame in conjunction with Garchomp, because the main core was frail, and extremely weak to Talon. Mega Gardevoir + Lucario is an excellent core. Mega Garde eliminates Mega Venusaur, bulky Ground types, bulky Psychic types, which allows Luke to set up and sweep once these threats are weakened or eliminated.

May as well submit another team here!

    Tier: RU

    Team:
    Leavanny @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Swarm
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - X-Scissor
    - Sticky Web
    - Knock Off
    - Leaf Blade

Sticky web setter, but also a pretty hard hitter. Focus sash and swarm make sure that you'll be hitting hard no matter what hits you when you set up web, and this thing's speed makes it very likely to hit first and ask questions later. Leaf blade is good stab, and knock off is knock off haha.

    Banette @ Banettite
    Ability: Frisk
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Shadow Claw
    - Shadow Sneak
    - Knock Off
    - Destiny Bond

The underrated mega of this team! Destiny bond+prankster is for getting rid of sweepers and annoying pokes no matter what, and just generally being annoying. Knock off is knock off, and the two ghost moves are for really hard hitting and priority with the sneak. Frisk on premega to scope out other sets.

    Avalugg @ Leftovers
    Ability: Own Tempo
    EVs: 128 HP / 128 Atk / 252 Def
    Impish Nature
    - Recover
    - Avalanche
    - Block
    - Barrier

This guy. If you can elminiate your opponents special attackers, you are nearly guaranteed either a win or your opponents forfeit. Block prevents them from switching out (and kills the common entrainment Durant sets BTW) while you set up barrier and get your defense to a casual 2,060, recover is recover, and avalanche lets you hit back pretty respectably. Overall this guy is a trapping tank who has net me many a forfeit.

    Clawitzer @ Expert Belt
    Ability: Mega Launcher
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Dark Pulse
    - Aura Sphere
    - Ice Beam
    - Water Pulse

Oh look the standard claw set. The pulse and spheres are for launcher boosts, while ice beam is nice coverage. Pretty simple, pretty deadly. Expert belt is there for a boost without losing health or being locked in, and takes advantage of claws wide coverage.

    Eelektross @ Assault Vest
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 118 HP / 152 SpA / 100 SpD / 140 Spe
    Modest Nature
    - Knock Off
    - Giga Drain
    - Flamethrower
    - Thunderbolt

Mixedish eelguy is my good friend. He can take a good share of hits, knock off items, regain health with drain, and has great overall coverage. Assault vest makes him even more bulky.

    Magmortar @ Life Orb
    Ability: Flame Body
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Flamethrower
    - Clear Smog
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Thunderbolt

This guy is a versatile power hitter and set up stopper. Clear smog hits decently hard while making set up pokes weep, flamethrower is good stab, thunderbolt is good coverage and HP grass lets you take out gastros or seismitoads or whatever is in your way that thinks they can tank your thunderbolt. Life orb on this guy for power.

Once again I am fine with volunteering to be an opponent.

I might submit a team next week... but for now, challenge thingy. You must use the Pokémon team you end up using at least one tier higher than it's supposed to be, like an OU team must be used in Ubers or AG, or a NU team must be used in RU or above. I want @[member="Gengar's Grin"] to do this one .w.

Just a bit of an update for you guys, we're currently slightly off schedule. There was supposed to be an episode of SoV recorded today, but due to the fact that I'm busy trying to fix audio problems, I have no choice but to delay recording episode 3 until at least Wednesday. I hope you guys aren't too mad at me, but having good audio in these videos is kind of crucial to me, as I only strive to make videos in the best quality I possibly can. Thanks for understanding.

UPDATE: I've decided that there will be no set day for these videos to go up. You guys will still get to vote once a week, and there should be a new episode every week. Due to how busy my life is at the moment, it's very hard to me to set days to upload and such. I hope you guys understand.

UPDATE: Voting for Episode 3 has begun! The following people suggested teams for episode 3 and are therefore REQUIRED to vote:

    @[member="Nature Lady"]
    @[member="shinygiratinaz"]

Good luck and may the best person win.

... Also, it took me nearly three days, but I think I've finally fixed the audio issue! Hooray!

UPDATE: The votes have been cast, and it's a tie! ... Which puts me in a dilemma because I don't know what to do in the case of a tie. I think what will happen is I'll assign both teams a number 1 through 10 and run it through an RNG generator to decide the winner. I'll reveal who the winner is when the video is recorded, so for now only @[member="Gengar's Grin"] and I get to know who one! Why am I not telling you who won? Because I want you to tune in to see who won of course!

@[member="Gengar's Grin"] and I will record the episode sometime this week, and have it uploaded before the week is up. I'm also pleased to announce that the next episode will be a tournament episode! That's right, every four episodes, we'll host a tournament on the LV Showdown Server in a random format. I'll post when the tournament will take place once @[member="Gengar's Grin"] and I settle on a date. There will be no suggestions for episode 4 due to it being a tournament episode.

UPDATE: It has been decided that the tournament will take place at the LV Showdown Server on Sunday, September 27 at around 3:00 PM (CST). As stated before, there are no signups necessary, all you have to do is be present in the main lobby of the Showdown Server when the tournament begins to enter. The format will most likely be LV OU. We're hosting it on the 27th so that everyone who wants to compete can have some time to practice. Good luck, and I hope to see many of you there!

UPDATE: The winner of the tournament was @[member="Bloom"]! Congratulations on earning the Tournament Medal and 1,000 Pokepoints! The episode will come out sometime next week, and I'll begin accepting suggestions for Episode 5 after it's up.

UPDATE: Bit overdue on this one, but episodes 3 and 4 are out now! You can find them on the LV Youtube Channel: youtube.com/LakeValorOfficial. Submissions for Episode 5, be they teams, challenges, will now be accepted. We are also taking volunteers this episode.
