DING DONG The school bell rang loudly through the campus, indicating the start of the new school year. Today was the introduction day. It was just a speech by the Principle of the school and the first years getting their Pokémon. Most students just arrived the day before and were not done unpacking. There were only a handful of students who had been there for a week or so. Amelia was one of those students. Most of the staff that was present during that time did not question her being there. Most cared little about the quiet girl. Some of the teachers even didn't know how she sounded. Amelia sure was an anomaly. Even though she is ranked lower than any student in her year, people just don't know her. She did not mind though. The girl sat on a bench near the school, knowing there was some time for the speech. She honestly could just wait outside and no one would notice that she was skipping out. Watching the small bird Pokémon pick the seeds that she had thrown to them. It was a fun sight to behold. Watching the Starly argue over who gets the biggest seeds. They puffed and chirped about tough they were. It was honestly hilarious. "Ah, the quiet is gone. Another year starts." [OOC: Currently it's the first day. No classes are taking place. Small wild Pokémon are common around the school. Students are NOT permitted to catch them. Have fun!]
Rather unlike her, Carolyn had only arrived a day ago, and had just finished unpacking - if by unpacking you mean dumping the contents of your suitcase on your dorm bed. Soon she'd have to rush off to the assembly, and probably be late again, but first she had to admire her "work" or procrastinate as usual. (I'm assuming this is kind of like a boarding school, and Carolyn isn't a first-year since she's already nicknamed her 'mon.)
Nearby, Juvenal watched enthusiastically, his waistcoat flying in the wind, as a flock of Starly perched on the ground, feeding on a few seeds which to him came out of nowhere. Planning his next course of 'attack', he decides to rush forward, chasing the birds as they flew away. "Ha, take that, birds!" he laughed as the Starly, who were taken off guard from his quiet approach (which was impressive since he was wearing sandals), ran away. He chuckled as he sat on a bench, only now noticing a girl next to him. "Oh hello there, miss! Sorry, didn't see you there, heheh," he greeted, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
Fianna walked into her dorm room and swiftly yet carefully opened her suitcase. She quickly checked if everything was there. Once satisfied, she began to take the contents out. She neatly placed her school uniform in a drawer next to her bed, assuming she needed it for the next day. Fianna then took her backpack with everything she needed for the day, checking it one more time before heading to the assembly.
Hikaru slipped into her dorm room, taking it in with wide eyes. She swallowed as she crept towards her bed. "SHINX!" Shinx cried, bursting from his Pokéball into the room. Hikaru watched him as he raced around the room before picking out her bed. He climbed up and Hikaru put her suitcase next to him. She took a calming breath, methodically and efficiently putting away her clothes. "Shi~" Shinx bumped her arm with his head, causing her to look down at her Pokémon. "Oh, you trouble-maker," Hikaru murmured softly, reaching with her other hand to pet him. She glanced towards the clock. "We'd better leave for the assembly."
"Eeep!" Amelia jumped a bit, lost in her thoughts. The birds sure were peaceful and that peace was interrupted by a sudden boy. He didn't seem familiar to her but no one in the school was familiar to her. Oh gods, he is speaking to me. What to do!? "Ah, no. You're okay. I...I...uh, um. Yes. I need to go the assembly is about to start!" Amelia stood up from the bench and took off towards the building that held her room. If I go to my room, he surely wouldn't follow right? Wait, you need to stop being like this. Make friends! Dad always said that you need to make friends. "Who needs friends. Pokémon are my friends." Amelia sighed and continued walking to her room. [OOC: Assembly will start 5 post rounds from now. ^w^]
Of course, Carolyn wasn't planning on being late. It just... happened. Rushing off towards the assembly spot, Cadence in tow, she tried not to panic as she made a dash... and realized it was completely empty. The assembly hadn't begun. "Huh, does this mean... I'm not late? For once? Huh."
Fianna walked quickly into the assembly hall, ignoring any nearby people or Pokémon. She walked as quickly as possible, not wanting to be late, especially on the first day. The red-haired girl entered the near-empty hall. Huh, where’s everyone? I guess I’m early, then. That’s even better. She thought. Fianna proceeded to sit down and pull out a book from her backpack. She started to write down some notes.
Daniel tossed on his uniform, of course he'd sleep in on the first day. His pachirisu, Lacey, was still asleep on the pillow. He had to decide if he had enough time to eat. Nope, he decided, he'd just grab a snack for later. Decision made, he scooped the electric squirrel of the pillow, and headed out the door. a few seconds later he was back in his apartment grabbing his backpack. Daniel couldn't wait to meet new people at the academy. New Pokémon too, if they would let him.
"Huh?" Juvenal tilted his head curiously, then shrugged. "Well I guess I'd better get goin', too!" The boy then dashed towards the assembly room, past a redhead and colliding with a brunette, who was also coincidentally running. "Oww, not again!" he groaned, rubbing his head as he lay on the floor.
"Gah!" Carolyn fell to the floor when she ended up crashing headfirst into some boy. It took a short while for her to recover, but she decided she would be fine, and hopefully not a ghost. "Uh, sorry about that, sir..." (EDIT: wait, is all dialogue supposed to be in color?)
"It's okay, sorry about that too~" Juvenal replied sheepishly, helping the girl up. "I'm Juvenal, by the way, Juvenal Ezereath!" he chirped. "How about you? What's your name?" (no, but after seeing Innings doin' it I decided I'll try it too~ it's nice, tbh)
Reaching her room eventually, Amelia threw herself on the made bed. Her room was cold as usual. She had been going to the school for a couple years now and she still didn't get used to the warm weather at the academy. Her Pokémon also appreciated the colder room. Glancing at the pictures on her wall, Amelia muttered "Fine...I'll go..." With that, Amelia wandered to the still pretty empty assembly hall. Looking around, she noticed the boy from before and some other students. Shuffling a bit, she sat down as far away as possible from the other students. No need to talk to her. No need to talk some loner like her.
Daniel found his way to the assembly hall, and began to mix with the growing number of students. He was excited to begin classes and meet new people. He didn't recognize anyone, but that was fine.
"Carolyn, huh? What a nice name!" Juvenal grinned widely, showing off his sharp canines. "So umm, where should we go sit?" he asked, scratching his head again as he looked around for a chair that isn't occupied. "How about there!" he exclaimed, running off in the direction of a certain brunette he met before sitting alone in the back, dragging his new friend in tow.
Hikaru entered the hall, quickly choosing a spot near the back wall. She tucked her ankles under the chair and waited- unintentionally giving off an aloof and dignified aura. Inwardly, she felt her her heart race as she looked at all the people from the corners of her eyes. So many, she thought with a barely noticable gulp.
[Just for reference: 1st Year: 12-13 year olds 2nd Year: 13-14 Year Olds 3rd years: 14-15 Year Olds 4th Years: 15-16 Years Olds] Amelia peered over to the commotion that was appearing, trying not to stare. The building was the oldest building on the campus, something the principle would surely remind them of. The principle would usually change up the speech but they always seemed to remind them of the age of the buildings. For a school that old, Amelia always wondered where they got all the money. Tuition was not that high and donations were not that common. Shrugging, she just closed her eyes as she started hearing more students filing into the room.
(Then I'm assuming Carolyn is 3rd year?) Having heard the speech twice already, the assembly wasn't much news to Carolyn. Not to mention how long it would be. No matter how long or short the period, any time she had to stay still for a while felt like an eternity.
Hikaru stayed still, letting her mind wander. This was her last year here and then... Hikaru let her eyes drift down to her deceptively calm hands. Her parents were not happy with the lack of growth with Shinx... For the first time, she would have to battle. Hikaru felt familer unease settle in her chest and she wished Shinx was allowed out of his Pokéball. Things weren't quite as scary with him around.
