It's approaching winter, and you know what that means - colds! Not to mention flu, sore throat, norovirus, gastroenteritis...the list of afflictions that plague us in the winter is a long one, and seems to be growing longer with each passing year. How prone are you to catching a cold? Have you had one yet this year? Prepared for the worst of it with a flu jab? What are your home remedies for when you get ill?
I got my flu shot, but my mom brings home colds from her work which I can easily catch. Start taking vitamin c, it'll help a bit.
I don't catch colds easily... but I'm highly allergic to everything. I sneeze on pretty much a regular basis, and when it gets worse, it only lasts a day or so. I should really start carrying around more tissue, though, just in case. Upgrade from one packet to two... if I can find a jacket secure enough to hold one pack.
I Was About The Same-Because Of Running Nose Three Time And I Got Cold. When This Happen, I Will Get One Toliet Roll With Me And When I Sleep-I Will Try To Against The Wind While Try To Get Some Wind As It Will Be Hot.
Powerful immune system, harsh crash. I don't get sick easily, but during the winter, my body experiences a crash, and I'll get really sick, really quick. I take medicine, but it doesn't help much when my body isn't used to the antibodies and actually attacks them instead of using them to fight the virus. Instead, I just try to go to sleep or work on my stories. Thinking and sleeping help make it feel like I'm not sick until it passes.
I've had a cold for most of November now, feeling much better with just a cough and stuffy nose. Sore throats are also common (which..may be answered with my late night attempts at voice acting/singing). I don't take flu shots (more important vaccines I did take, not sure when I'll need to update them/if I even do need to- I don't go to the doctor often so my paperwork's kinda scattered), but have a nice stock of over the counter medicine for any sort of small illnesses.
Heh, no season in particular makes me sick though...Exams do. Seriously, not to jinx myself or anything but everytime I get sick it's always during exams and so far I've escaped it this yr.
I started taking flu shots since I started working in a hospital, and it's pretty necessary for me. I have a compromised immune system, so I might easily just get deathly ill. I've been lucky so far, however. I especially hope I don't catch something soon, because I'm still suffering from the recovery of this appendectomy I keep talking about. I will simply not be able to get by without sneezing while recovering from a while entire cold.
I don't think I get colds all too easily, though I do have a tendency to get sore throats fairly regularly. They usually just last for a day or two though, and usually goes away if I give my throat a rest, drink water, and sleep next to a humidifier. I don't really consider myself sick when I have a sore throat. If I have a fever though, that's when I'm sick and miserable. I get tired, my head gets heavy, I start talking gibberish, because I apparently really like the sound of my own voice when I have a fever. This only happens once a year though, usually towards the end of winter. My home remedies consist of water, a comfortable place to rest, and a bunch of movies to watch to pass the time. I'm really not one for medicine.
Very prone to getting sick, sadly. It was normal for me to get sick every three-ish weeks during the colder months. Getting the flu shot last winter helped a lot and I plan to get it sometime in December this time too. Gotta stay healthy, especially since I have a trip coming up in January. gahh
I dont really catch a cold or any worse disease that easy. And I hope I dont this year either coz I dont wanna be in bed on Christmas day!
