As winter approaches in the northern hemisphere, the chill and snow are on everyone's mind. Do you like the cold weather? What is cold weather according to your comfort level? And what is the coldest temperature you've ever been surrounded by? --- I tend to enjoy cold weather, at least as far as winter in my region is concerned. 40F/5C is just "chilly" as far as I'm concerned, and it annoys me when people call that "freezing", which is a defined objective temperature, not a descriptor to be used subjectively. If I'm dressed right, I can be comfortable down to 25F/-4C if I'm dry (in fact, I'll even take off my coat if I'm working and generating my own heat), but once I get to 20F/-7C I am no longer in a good mood. I think I've only ever been down to 10F/-12C, so you're not likely to ever hear about me going on an Antarctic expedition voluntarily.
I live for cold weather I could just do without the snow. The coldest it’s gotten here was around -4F
FINALLY. I absolutely despite the heat. After the most miserable summer I can remember - six weeks without rain, and temperatures of up to 30 degrees, in England! - I embrace the cold with open arms. "Cold" to me is around 3 degrees first thing in the morning, anything above that is fair game, anything below it and I don't want to leave the house...or maybe even my bed. I have no idea what the coldest temperature I've experienced is...although I do know that it was probably nothing compared to what my mother can put out when she's in a bad mood. xD
I hate the heat. I just want it to be cool here for once. I mean, it’ll be nice weather in the morning but then I’m like “Ok, why did God turn up the sun?!?!” I almost blinded one of my friends who wanted to see what I had drew because the white paper agaisnt the sun was way too much. You also can’t dress for heat or at least as effectively as you can for the cold. I got a nice leather jacket with my name on it for the cold. And honestly, I’d much rather be cold then unbearably hot.
It’s pretty hecking cold up here in the Northwest. I love cold weather, except my room in the draftiest and I get the least heat so I have to buy more sweaters! Not that I’m complaining about buying sweaters—they’re my favorite kind of clothing and I would do anything to invent a sweater for summer that doesn’t bake you alive in the heat. Generally I prefer colder weather. I like hot chocolate, warm fires, Christmas markets (which, apparently we don’t have here?!), the atmosphere of sales and shopping... I’ll take winter over summer any day!
Well even now, we puertorriqueans are dealing with 80-89F. It's always hot here, but we tend to get used to it. I personally like the heat, but too much can just be annoying. I also enjoy the nice cold but then again, it's almost never cold here. Y'all be talking about chilling at about 25F and stuff, and I belive if i was ever anywhere near that temperature I would freeze. I'm not 100% sure, about this, but I belive the coldest it's ever been naturally here was around 60F or higher.
The coldest weather I’ve been surrounded by is -30 degrees Celcius (Don’t ask me what that is in Fahrenheit, I’m not American.) in Canada. Where I live, winter is still pretty hot. It rarely drops below 10 degrees celcius, and if it does, it’s probably because of a (not snow) storm. It also never snows. The last time it snowed here was like 100 years ago. I still love the cold weather, though.
Cold is better than heat. I like warm jackets, blankets, and things like that. I need a new robe or something though. I have a nice one with a hood but it barely goes down past my knees. A few years ago there was a pretty bad winter. Snow wasn't too bad, but at the coldest I saw the temperature go down to -48 degrees Fahrenheit. If it could just be between 30-50 degrees all the time, I'd be happy with that.
I like to be in the middle. Cold can't win for me because my room sucks for insulation. So as I type this I'm freezing. Heat sucks for me because of what I was born with, I can overheat 10 times faster than anyone in my area and they don't believe me when I complain it's too hot
I much rather be cold than hot. I love the feeling of snuggling up in a blanket, and you can't really do that when your hot (well, I guess you can, but I don't think it would be very comfortable). I don't really know exact temperatures that I enjoy, but I can still bundle up and feel nice and comfortable when it's snowing out, so, whatever the temperature for snow is. If it's too cold to snow, then it's too cold for me.
@Fchicken77 is right - compared to other areas, winter is pretty warm in our area. BUT IT'S STILL TOO COLD! I despise the cold. You can tell I'm a summer person by just that. The second thing I hate about the cold is that for some reason it's the perfect season for dust to get absolutely everywhere. I can't stop sneezing. I can't stop sneezing in the summer either, but it's worse in December and the likes.
