So I forgot to make one of these

So I'm Chron, hi

You've probably seen me around some already, especially if you're on team Memegeist. The version of me that you're gonna get on this site is way chiller than who I actually am as a person, because this is the first forum I've joined in a long time that I haven't been moderating.

So basically what I do is I'm a college student, doing Psychology and Communication Studies, and I hope to graduate with my Bachelor's in December. I hope to continue my education and get a Master's in School Psychology, so I can work in the field of education and make a meager attempt to help kids grow up without being a teacher.

As far as mons goes, I've been playing since FireRed, which I got when I was 10. My favorite games, as well as the most nostalgic games for me, are Black and White. Most of my IRL friends hate B/W, but thankfully most competitive communities I've been apart of love it, so I feel much more at home here when it comes to mons.

I started competitive mons back in early X/Y, where I began breeding and training "competitive" teams, which were really just anything I got from Wonder Trade that had half decent IVs and was fun to use. RIP in peace, Talonflame. I mainly do draft leagues and randbats nowadays, usually hovering in the 2100s on the Randoms ladder, and I have 1 draft league win and 2 finals appearances, as well as a smattering of #1 seeds and round 1 playoff knockouts. Screw playoffs.

My favorite types are definitely Bug, Fairy, and Flying, with some favorite mons being Scolipede, Volcarona, Azumarill, Whimsicott, Noivern, and Crobat.

Also some friends of mine on this site are Haunted Ditto, Duo, Mango, and KnightBlader, and I hope to make more as I continue to spend time here!

This post merely describes what I like and what aspirations I might have, whilst naming the first small pink thing I catch on this site "this is my intro" is more of a deeper introduction into who I am as a person

 

For communications, oh gosh; Probably the real-world practicality of learning and understanding the motivations and mechanics behind the words and actions that people transmit. In fewer words, it's cool to observe communication principles in everyday life, and it helps you understand and work with people. For psychology, there is so much to choose from; of course, tying in with communication, social and evolutionary psychology are probably my favorite fields. Doing research in these fields just feels so... meaningful and exciting. Even though my two conference-displayed posters weren't creating new theorems, they were still discussing really fun concepts (if anyone's interested lmk I might share some of my research tomorrow, some of it's even relevant to online forums).

The site was Planet Minecraft, and back when I was a forum moderator about 3 years ago... Xenforo and BBCode are the only names I can remember of forum software and I'm almost positive we didn't use either one (maybe some BBCode stuff). It was quite jank (I think it had around 50,000 active users a day in its heyday) but it was my home for many years and I loved it. That's where I developed a passion for writing, RPs, and poetry, although admittedly I'm a bit rusted in those fields now, but still enthusiastic about them.

Yeah I wanna apologize for coming off as a bit abrasive when I was doing team critiques. It was 2AM for me and I wasn't in the right frame of mind. After reading your status post, I totally get where you're coming from, and throughout school I was really the same way, although thankfully I wasn't really conventionally "bullied", but moreso passive-aggressively manipulated as the resident "smart kid". I hope we're able to become friends too, man! Gen 5 is always an easy way to bond with me tbh
