Was there a show you watched as a kid that scared you so much that you remember it today? I'll share my story.

I was very young when this happened. I was watching this certain episode Pingu. The one where he has the dream. So the dream starts out innocent. The bed starts walking around, carrying Pingu along. It's fine until this Giant Walrus comes out of nowhere and decides to scare the living crap out of all children watching the show at the time.
    https://www.google.com.au/search?q=pingu+walrus&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=g6ftU6i0A9bZoASB0YDQAQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=2133&bih=1078&dpr=0.9

It's not too scary looking at pictures, but watching the actual video and seeing him pop out even now still makes me remember when I was a kid when i cried non-stop because of the bloody walrus.
I do not understand how they thought that he was ok to put in a kid's show.

    So, what's your story?

Comment your story below and like this if you remember the walrus giving you a hard time as a kid.

Courage the Cowardly Dog. All the creepy shenanigans that ensued on that show used to scare me but I watched it anyway haha.

That Pingu episode you talked about traumatized me and made me have nightmares for several days when I was 4 years old.

Nothing immediately stands out to me as being hella scary from when I used to watch things as a kid. (Biiiit of a stretch in my case, what with with minimalistic cable channels and lack of kid orientated stuff) So, going off in a slightly different direction, I can recall one thing that did literately sent me diving behind a couch: first time I ever saw footage of the game Jak II. And also moving this topic because as in my case, folks might've been scared by something they read in a book or experienced whilst playing a game, in addition to watching tv and movies.

I was about 10 or 11 at the time and really loved the first game, fully content with the beautiful levels and quirky lurker enemies. Then the sequel came around, the game picking up straight after the original story's ending and well, it takes about a minute or two for everything to go to hell. That first cutscene, man. Instilled fear in me that day without doubt, what with METAL HEADS COMING EVERYWHERE and the big monstrous roar from Metal Kor coming out of the Rift Gate. The series suddenly went from slapstick fun to nightmare fuel with a vengeance.

It only got worse for me when they saw Jak getting tortured and experimented upon, and, oh yeah, how could I forget Jak going full on dark eco beast and sxdcfv. I swear, I swear to the gods it took me a while to finish the game. The toneshift really took me by surprise, but I love the series now that I'm older and, ah, hopefully less easier to scare.

When I was but a wee lad of eight years old, one of my dad's coworkers gave us an NES and a milk crate full of games. One of them was Super Mario Bros. 3.

And being the kid I was, World 8 (especially the field icon for Bowser's Castle) gave me the heebie-jeebies. I literally hid in the bedroom and made my dad beat the last level for me.

I remember that Spritied Away freaked the hell out of me as a kid. I can't remember what part of the movie scared me, but I was about 5 or 6. I'm assuming it was probably No Face that scared me. I didn't watch it for another 8 or 9 years after, when I realised that the movie is definitely not scary.

Also, while it didn't scare me from what I can remember, my mum thinks that my arachnophobia stems from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

When I was 6 I had watched the movie E.T. with my family. I could barely watch half of it before I was sacred so out of my skin that I begged my mom to turn the TV off. I tried to watch it again a few months ago, and I was definitely not as horrified as I was when I was 6, but I still find E.T. creepy as shit.

This pretty much, I still don't understand how that show was scary, but I still watched it. I guess the creators were playing mind games xD

This is going to sound really stupid, but I used to be scared of Johnny Bravo. I have no idea why.

These days I think it's a great cartoon.

I was scared of a lot of cartoons when I was little. I was a really weird kid.

Well, nothing much as a kid really freaked me out that much show wise. There was one show I watched that I can't remember for the life of me, where one of the animals in it had this special power to remove its freaking eyes from its eye socket and control them and used them to find a friend that was stuck lost down in a big huge labyrinth. Just, why? That traumatized me as a kid and forever milked away at some of my innocents.

Although it isn't a show, there was also this one horror movie I accidentally caught a glimpse of when I was about 5, maybe 7 or 8? It scared me so bad, because it was about a little girl who had to deal with an evil living humanoid doll who badly seemed to want to kill her and no one would believe her when she said it was alive and she was scared of it. It gave me my fear of the uncanny valley, and even now I have a hard time having any eyes on me while I'm sleeping.

As much as I loved Scooby-Doo, there were some episodes that scared me and I had trouble getting through. The green ghost one comes to mind; I could never watch that without hiding |D;; I think Courage also scared me; I can't remember since my parents prevented me from watching it due to Eustace abusing Courage and Muriel :/ (I tried telling them I understood what Eustace did was wrong and that he usually got his just desserts, but they never listened.)

TV show? I'd have to say the News channel. The guy had a freaky eye D:
Something not related to Tv though, well..
My mom walked into my room, blood dripping from her eyes and mouth and nose and eveywhere else on her face. She was carrying a toy sword but I screamed my head off. She still makes fun of me to this day :D

Remember that one Star Trek movie with the things that mind control you by crawling in through your ear? It was Wrath of Khan, though I can't remember the number. That scared me to death.

When I was little, as in REALLY little, the children's book about the hungry caterpillar scared the absolute shit out of me. I was completely convinced that I was next.

It's embarassing now that I think about it, but I used to be really scared of all of the bad guys in Power Rangers. I remember I even used to run away when I saw a Power Rangers card with a villain on it.

I remember watching a documentary about the Second World War as a kid. God, the violence made me cry myself to sleep...

Looking back, it seems like a combination of fear and sadness (I'm a pacifist and I love it that way)
