SSB4 Mains

At this point I use a ton of different characters and don't really just have one main.
They would be: ROB, Pit, Charizard, Pikachu, Greninja, Fox, Ike, Roy, Diddy Kong, Zero Suit, Captain Falcon, Sheik, and Falco.

I like a lot of characters lol.

 

My main always changes, but right now, I'm focusing on Falco. However, you can catch me playing Pikachu or Sheik very often.

 

I tend to stick mostly with Bowser, Ganondorf, and Ike. There's just something about the strong-slow heavy types that I like. Aside from those, I also like Zelda, DK, and Doc Mario, who I just noticed also tend to be sorta in the strong-slow category.

I don't own any DLC for myself, but playing with people who do have DLC, I found out that I still kick so much tail with Mewtwo and Lucas. So much tail is kicked by my Lucas and Mewtwo.

Yeah I'm a DDD main. Its so much fun using him, all the gordo combos and zoning and his amazing fastfalling and heaviness. I'll drop some zss or robin sometimes, or even DK if I'm trying to just have a fun match. DDD is the most amazing duck-penguin of all though and he's forever the main man

 

My mains would probably be Lucario, Greninja, Mewtwo, Ness, Lucas, Robin, Lucina, Roy (FE), Rosalina and Link. As you can see, I don't really have a typical style of character, but those are the ones I play as.

 

I am garbage at Smash, but I usually use Lucina, ZSS or Yoshi. Most of the time it's just for dicking around with my buddies who don't even own the game, so you can't really call them 'mains'. I don't play competitively.

 

I've mained Link since Smash 64 (gee, whoever would have guessed?). My secondary is currently Captian Falcon, but I might change it to Cloud once he comes out.

 

SSB4 is my first Smash game so I'm pretty bad at it lol. But I usually main (and by main I mean mash buttons a lot very much) Shulk, Ike, and Pit.

I played Brawl with my friends and they hate me for my button-mashing success with Ike. :')

 

My mains are Dark Pit, Shulk, Lucario and Roy. My true main out of the four is Dark Pit, especially cause my playstyle is very aerial.

 

My mains are Roy and Shulk, with a few back up mains here and there (such as Lucina, Dr Mario and Dark Pit, but not Marth, Mario or... actually, I'm fine with Pit). And no, I am not making that last part up: I really do prefer the clones to their originals.

Pikachu used to be a Brawl main, but I don't like him much here, Charizard just doesn't feel right, especially since I loved Rock Smash and now the input's changed, I'm decent with Lucario, I'm surprisingly competent with a Jigglypuff (beat All-Star under six minutes with Jiggles? I did it on accident), and I appreciate Mewtwo. I think that's all of the Pokémon.

 

*looks at profile pic* ... Mr. Game and Watch. Though I actually do play him. And dark pit. My biggest main though is little mac. I stuck with him since the beginning, even when everyone abandoned him. In the end it's paying out. Tried doing air mac like in the videos, but I couldn't get the hang of it.

Mr. Game and Watch is my most aggressive. I'll chase you off the damn ledge if I have to. Also I have an amazing luck with those 9s on judgement. I've before gotten three nines in a row.

And dark pit is pretty good to. I'm getting better at that no scrubs shield. And the arrow hunting game is amazing.

 

I usually use Kirby because it looks pretty cute. I also choose Lucina because I was interested by how she was so strong when she challenged me back then.

Secondaries: Jigglypuff, ROB, Ness, Lucas, Yoshi, Rosalina, Olimar

Ehem, Ho-Oh and I always seem to main/love counterparts of the opposite without arguments, which is strange. I always 'main' my favourite characters;

Lugia: Dark Pit (I'll always love him more than anyone else does), Link, Greninja, Lucario, Jigglypuff, Megaman and Mii fighters dressed up as Viridi, Silver, Blue, Crystal and Ruby, the latter 4 from Pokémon Adventures. You'll also see me use Zelda, Marth, Roy and Zero Suit Samus occasionally, but for no reason.

Ho-Oh: The characters I mainly fight as include Mewtwo, Pit, Charizard, Pikachu, Toon Link (all which I love more than anyone else, sorry for being a little selfish) and Mii Fighters based on Pokémon Adventures characters including Red, Gold, Green, Yellow, Emerald, Sapphire, Diamond and more. I also sometimes use Ike, Bowser and Ganondorf.

 

I'm surprised I didn't notice this thread beforehand..

I've been getting better at Sm4sh over time, but my mains have constantly evolved. Currently, here are the characters I most frequently play with:

1. Little Mac - My main Ness, Captain Falcon, Rosalina, and King Dedede counter. Love this guy to death because he's so fun to play.
2. Sonic - His speed combinations are literally the only reason I play him so much. He's a great character this game, and he's my main counter for Little Mac, Sheik, and Yoshi.
3. Sheik - Do I even need an explanation?
4. Mario - Surprisingly enough, I've been getting pretty good with him. His grabs and cape are extremely handy, and recovery is very nice with him.
5. Dark Pit - Same as Mario, I've been increasing my play time with him, and I can see him eventually becoming a main of mine.

I generally play as random characters just for the fun of it. It gives you a lot of flexibility and edge on your opponent, but you gamble with the chance of getting Charizard

   How the hell are you able to counter Ness and Rosalina? Those two are literally the bane of little mac player. Ness because he famous for being able to gimp him to no end. And Rosie is near impossible to hit with that Luma meat shield

 

If you end up getting beat by Ness, you're really not utilizing for-glory-Mac and his immense speed to its full potential. Obviously Ness and Rosalina pose great threats to Little Mac, but honestly they aren't perfect matches against him.
Rosalina's meat shield is not even a problem with Mac's high damage output (at least for me), and Ness' PK Fire is the only real problem that I encounter. Even then, PK Fire has a much shorter range than for-glory-Mac and charge punch. The recovery frames of PK Fire are easy to wiggle into if you play against him enough.

Haha real talk, Ness is my favorite to play since Brawl. I feel so comfortable edgeguarding with him, along with juggling and mindgames with PK Thunder. He has a fantastic set of aerials (minus lol Dair), great grabs (the infamous KOing B-Throw, stage controlling F-Throw/U-Throw and comboing D-Throw) and a hell of a high damage output. He fits me so well (seriously if you look up a "Name that Smash Bros. Character" video, like 3 people said Timmy for Ness XD) and he's too fun to play. Plus I always cause something stupid to happen and Ness' PKT games can bring some hype as well LOL.

(But please don't be "stereotypical Ness" and use PK Fire and roll each time you miss... That makes me cringe so hard >.<)

And I have a whole bunch of other characters I play:

Overused tier: Peach, Yoshi, Mario
Borderline: Charizard, Rosaluma (Rosa's hard but fun to play XD)
Underused: Luigi, Jiggs
Barelyused: Fox, Palutena, Zelda, Lucas

I never play characters based on tier position or anything like that, I play as I see fit and what's the most fun for me! So yeah, I'll usually be that person that just jumps in and not give a damn.

And my input on the Ness/Rosa vs Mac MU:

I think Ness wins 60-40, but the neutral is difficult if Mac plays patient. The second he overcommits (or has a counter read) and Ness can get a grab though, F-Throw > PKT or D-Throw > Fair will likely prevent Mac from coming back. He also can't sweetspot the ledge with his Up-B so D-Smash is very good at catching it. Ness can't win Footsies vs Mac though and PKF is hardly worth using since he's so fast (also Mac can use his super armor to avoid it and Up-B allows him to escape it if Ness tries to approach him in it). I don't sleep on Mac (it IS doable for him).

Regarding Rosa: I think 50-50 cause here, you practically have NO Luma and almost all of Mac's moves send Luma into tumble or offstage and it'll be dead lol. I think Rosa can zone him out ok and Fair/Bair will be nasty for Mac once she has stage control, but Mac will KO her super early and she's a fairly big and light target. I'm not quite an expert on Rosa though so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Welp, guess my avatar kinda gives it away, but Lucas is my main.

I'm kinda fickle with main characters, but Lucas has remained one I consistently use since his release, and I was hyped as all hell for him prior to release, since I love MOTHER 3 the most out of the EarthBound games.

But besides him I'm kinda unorganized, so I'll basically do what Timtendo did and put the characters I use into tiers of how often I do so:

All The Time - Lucas
Often - Kirby
Fairly Often - Ganondorf, Bowser Jr., Duck Hunt
Sometimes - Wario, Jigglypuff, Ness

I really need to find a secondary, but I am improving with Lucas quite a bit, so hopefully I'll soon realize which matchups he's bad in and pick secondaries accordingly.
