Star Fox is a series that started on the SNES that you had you flying around on various planets shooting bad guys to save the universe. The game that helped it achieve its original popularity was Star Fox 64 and along with it the popular quote: "Do a Barrel Roll!"

However, in the days of the Gamecube, Star Fox went down significantly and it hasn't been seen too much since. Fox and Falco have appeared in the new Smash, Star Fox 64 was remade, and another game has been confirmed for this year.

Are you excited for this new game? Do you think Krystal should have been in the series? Did you like the Gamecube games? Did you do a barrel roll? Do you attack your teammates on purpose.

Post your thoughts and comments here.

I've played Star Fox 64, Star Fox Command and Star Fox Assault and I did enjoy both!

But I think I've spent more time with Star Fox 64, because it was really rewarding on challenging yourself to try and get those metals; it was reaaaally tough on places like Zoness or Section Z.. at least for me because the requirement for the metals there were quite high, ahaha ugh. Area 9 was really enjoyable too; so much death and destruction everywhereeeee...

Assault was really cool too, but it was a bit short for my liking, and somethings about it sucked like how useless the teammates were (and you can't even shoot them down!) but the music was amazing! <33 Star Fox Command? Eh, it was good, but, not 'great'.

I have yet to play any starfox games, but I am quite excited for Starfox U! It looks pretty fun (well, from Nintendo's blurred out announcement video). I don't really know anything about the franchise except "do a barrel roll!" and Fox Mccloud xD

Oh, Star Fox... The things I have to say about this one...

(I ranted a bit here so please forgive me, I just love Star Fox as a series so darned much!)

For starters, most people don't usually consider the Original SNES Star Fox a canon part of the series, instead as a sorta Parallel Universe, since it's pretty different to the N64 Version in terms of story. The SNES Version did, however, get a comic series in a Nintendo Power magazine, which was awesome in my opinion. (Anyone interested can find the whole comic digitized here.), but having played it, I must say that it was really difficult! You only get a crosshair to aim when you're in first-person, but you only get to go to first-person in a handful of levels. It's pretty hard. :/

Now, Star Fox 64. One of my favorite games of all time. I love the Characters, the Ship designs, The Branching pathways system, but most of all, those cheesy lines! "Do a Barrel Roll!" being the prime example. :P
Star Fox 64 did get a comic... but it was much shorter and had less story, more action. I personally preferred the SNES comic better. :P
But most of all... Star Wolf's theme was (And still is) one of my favourite boss themes in anything ever!

Star Fox Adventures? DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED on ADVENTURES. I'll skip this one and say it doesn't exist: It's what I've been doing all this time.

Star Fox Assault. Now this was how you made a sequel. It was awesome and really fun to play... the first time. It lacked any kind of branching pathways system like in 64, so it quickly lost its replayability. Plus the on-foot missions? ...Ech.

Star Fox Command... This was a pretty interesting take on the series, I must say. Combining an RTS, with action-based combat and intuitive controls for the DS screen, it was a fun one. This one bought back branching pathways too, which was cool, as well as custom ships - Also cool. But... I feel it could have been better on the Wii. It doesn't really feel like it should be a portable title to me, it just doesn't seem right, that's all.

And now the new one's on its way too, so I need to buy a Wii U now. >.<

I am most certainly excited for the new game. Hopefully the do it properly this time. :P
No, I don't think Krystal should be in the games. She doesn't fit in with all the other characters, in my opinion.
I liked Assault. There's no other Star Fox games on the Gamecube. NOT ONE.
Yes. Have you tried playing on expert? Try not barrel rolling on expert!
Of course not! I like all my teammates, even Slippy! (Except you, Krystal.)

Anyway, that's enough of my ranting, so please forgive me for using up all this page-space. I also do accept other people's opinions on Adventures and Krystal, and I understand that some people did like Adventures, so don't be angry at me if I disagree with anyone's thoughts!

I've never played any of the Star Fox games, but I wouldn't mind playing one for the first time! Definitely not for the games though, just for the memes.
