So as you guys know, Steam runs 4 sales a year (for each of the seasons). Currently, we are in the Winter Sale period that runs from December 21st (6PM GMT) to January 4th (6PM GMT). They have a ton of discounts on a wide variety of games! It is currently 12 AM GMT so you have roughly 18 hours to make any final purchases! Turns out 6PM GMT was 6 hours ago so the sale actually ended. Thanks Marine for pointing this out. The discussion below still stands. Let us know your thoughts! Did you take advantage of the Winter Sale period? If so, what did you get and do you think it was a good deal? If not, why so?
Sometimes when I feel like I'm doing a good job of saving up money, Steam decides to help change that. My wishlist has 205 items on it (well, 207 now that I checked and saw new things to add), so it's easy to find something on sale. My most recent purchases were Shadowrun Returns for $3, Dex also for $3, and Sanctuary RPG Black for less than $1. I haven't been able to download any of them yet because of my crappy internet (and Sanctuary RPG, which is small enough to download, is Windows only). However, during the Fall Sale, I got Borderlands 2 and Civ 5, which together were $15 I think, and just finished downloading both. Curse you, Steam, for making me want to buy so much, but bless you to, for making it comparatively gentle on my wallet.
Momentary panic as I think it's starting up again meaning I have to resist buying anything else Although in the end I didn't buy too much, for me - both Turok and Torchlight games, the ebihime VN bundle, and FFV and VI. For me, that is *very* good, considering I have several very expensive (and at the time, highly discounted) VNs on my wishlist. I *really* wanted CLANNAD and the Grisaia novels. Maybe when the Summer Sale rolls around! Generally a good deal on Steam for me has to be at least 60% for me to take advantage of it.
