Steven's team in the remakes

I don't think they will let him have all mega's since that sounds a bit too overpowered, but I can definitely see him with a mega evolution for sure. My guess is that his team will most likely be the exact same as it was in the previous generations, but this time he will have a Mega Metagross since Beldum was his signature Pokémon and Metagross was the strongest member on his team when you battled him in the originals. I'm also guessing he will be post game since they would need have to have a legitimate reason to remove Juan. Similar to how in BW2 they replaced Lenora and Brycen for legitimate reasons due to Brycen wanting to become an actor and Lenora to further her studies in the Nacrene Museum.

 

Definitely not a team of only megas xD But almost certainly he will have a Mega Metagross. I also have a pretty good feeling about Steven being the League Champion.

if they make a mega metagross he will most likely have that one as a mega. that or they give him mega aggron. I just hope he will be the champ again or at least one you can battle many times

 

Maybe he might have a mega evolution in his team maybe a lucario?

 

With Mega Metagross released, we know that he will have this guy on his team~ ;3

And I don't think his team will change too much, because it was real good back then.

 

I think Steven's team will change members only if some sort of change is made to the ORAS regional 'dex. His team was good, and fit his type well considering his Hoenn options.

Of course, it is highly likely, nay, pretty much a given by this point, that Steven's rematch team will include a later Pokémon. Probably a Lucario, an Excadrill, an Aegislash, or a combination of the three. Or we could see more Fossil Pokémon... it's hard to tell whether Steven specialises in Steels or Fossils.

 

I kind of hope Steven will have more actual Steel type Pokémon on his rematch team, since he is supposed to be a Steel master. Though I agree with phineas - it is hard to tell.

 

We know that he has a mega Metagross now, so I think that, if the rest of his team stays the same, beating him will be pretty damn hard.

 

I swear I remember something about Steven having a Charizard... lemme go check that.

 

The remakes will be my first time fighting Steven in a real game (not a ROM or hack). Mega metagross will be hard, so I hope they don't throw in a lucario there too. It makes sense that they'd give him Pokémon from other gens, but I kinda want to see his old team redone. I'm really looking forwards to fighting him, it looks like it'll be a really fun battle!

 

I will really look forward to battling my favourite champion again. My only issue with his team is Claydol, it's good and all but the rest of his Pokémon are either steel types or fossils. I agree with an above post that an Excadrill would be a good replacement, especially since Steven used one in the PWT.

 

My main hope is that he will present a sizeable challenge. I really want Steven to be amazingly strong compared to Diantha. I've never actually battled Steven, so this will be a fun, and new experience for me which I'm greatly looking forward to.

 

I know one thing, is I will see a Mega Metagross in his team, the fossil team will definitely be a challenge. As long as his team puts up a great fight, I'll be satisfied.

 

I honestly don't know if they'll change his team at all in the remakes, other than giving his Metagross the Metagrossite. It would be cool to see Pokémon from other regions on his team, though.
