There's an obvious reason why you don't encounter high level Linoone and Dustox on early routes and such, but the option to encounter them somehow would be interesting and probably more accurate to how things would really be.

What do you guys think? How do you think something like this could be implemented?

Perhaps having a shadow that can be interacted with would work. That way you wouldn't have to battle them early in the game, but would make backtracking more worthwhile and fun. An indicating message would be helpful to go with it. 'There's a [much stronger/very strong/strong] Pokémon nearby!' or similar, changing depending on the boosted level [+10/+20/+30??]

I think that's an interesting idea! Maybe something like back in Gen 1 with Marowak in the Pokémon tower?
Having higher level encounters would definitely bring more attention to the routes in the beginning since people hardly ever go back.

I think it would be a neat idea! Maybe depending on how many badges you have or if you've beaten the E4 determines the level of the Pokémon on routes, like how when you progress the wild Pokémon slowly get stronger.

I like how you could Make it an option to battle them idea. It'e be bad for raising 6 lower levels if Mandatory.

Pretty brilliant idea. If they could somehow implement an idea of catching both low and high leveled Pokémon on earlier routes later in game, that would be a mechanic worth utilizing. A Key Item maybe? Who knows.

That would be pretty amazing, yeah, it would allow for more in-depth exploration into the games!

... So long as the player knew that in the case of these shadows, or whatever it'd be, the Pokémon would be more than just a few levels higher because unsuspecting players could easily get KOed pretty early. But I would still love to see this!

That would be great, it could be implemented with moving grass or a ring on the water, just like in Gen V

I think that would be a neat idea, and could easily be implemented now with the introduction of the DexNav. You can see if a Pokémon is higher-leveled using that device, so something similar could definitely be in future games. I'd really like that as a gameplay mechanic, it would make the routes a lot more interesting.

I would like to see this. With how much battling knowledge I've gathered I would easily be up for the challenge, but if I did beat them I would get way too much experience and it may make the rest of the game easier, assuming that I could beat a significantly higher leveled Pokémon I found in the wild.

That'd be an interesting idea, it'd sure make going back to previous routes all that much better! :3

I like this idea quite a bit. We could bring it back to Generation 5 style to something similar with the shaking grass... pure amazing.
