If an anime is available in dub, do you watch it in sub or dub? I prefer sub myself, it's kind of more authentic. It's how the writers wrote it, in the tone they wrote it in.

So, tell me, sub or dub?

I prefer dub, because I don't like staring at words the whole time I'm trying to enjoy the anime. Plus I just enjoy hearing it in my own language better; makes it more real to me.

However I know anime can sometimes have really terrible English actors, and in that case I'd probably prefer subs. But usually I just watch dub and am perfectly fine with it.

i'm not a big anime watcher but i do watch the ocassional show, but i prefer dubbed. i don't always like to watch and read every little thing at every moment, when i'm watching a show i'm usually drawing/knitting/doing chores or other things, not just sitting there with my eyes glued to the screen

I don't watch a whole lot of anime, or any TV for that matter. YouTube...
Anyways, I prefer it dubbed. It bothers me to have to read off everything in order to understand it when really, I just want to be enjoying the show.

Dubbed, definitely. Not much of an anime watcher either, but I hate looking at subs.

Subbed. I don't mind looking at the words at the bottom of the screen. Plus, I learn a little bit of Japanese. :P

It depends on the show--if it's not out in English or had a terrible dub, I'll watch it subbed. If it has a good English dub (Fullmetal Alchemist, to name an example) or has a certain charm despite its flaws (Sailor Moon, classic Pokémon), I'll watch it dubbed

Depends on how I first watched it. Puella Magi Madoka Magica or Bamboo Blade I started in english and don't want to watch with subs, and K-On and SAO are i started with subs and don't want to watch in english.

When I can watch an anime in English, I watch it dubbed. If i can't then i watch it subbed.

I mainly prefer watching animes dubbed, but I can watch them subbed if there's no dub in existence (Seriously, no one can diss the dubs of Cowboy Bebop and Outlaw Star, nor Spice and Wolf XP).

I prefer subbed. The only dubs that I can tolerate are DGM's (barely) and FMA's. The rest make me cringe.

Subbed all the way. Dubbed is always terrible and they make changes to the script I don't like. Only dubbed things I've ever watched are Pokémon (years ago, Saturday mornings) and Full Metal Alchemist (Toonami :3)

I have it subbed, because I'm used to it, and I feel really awkward without. I sometimes watch dubbed, but only when I have difficulty finding subbed ones.

I like both. I've watched both dubbed and subbed series. I've watched the whole Bleach dub and a few whole series such as Attack on Titan and One Piece (Both not finished).

I think a lot of people aren't willing to try dubs just because they hear others say "wow these suck lol i love it being kawaii desu !!" so they instantly jump on the "anything which isn't japanese is inferior japan is the master race of voice acting" lol

Not to say there isn't bad dubs though, there's a bunch. The One Piece dub from 4kids was TERRIBLE. It was one of the worst dubs I've ever watched, honestly. When Funimation took over though, they improved it a LOT. I do still find it hard to watch One Piece in dubbed form though.

Dubbed. It's more comfortable for me than looking at the words, but I may have to watch subbed episodes of a series since not all of the episodes are dubbed.

Dubbed for me. Like Joy said, I'd rather enjoy the anime then just read the words the whole time.

I like to watch my anime in Sub...I think some English Dub's are annoying (not all of them though.)
Plus, I like to read what they're saying since I get distracted sometimes. :s

I prefer dubbed because I feel that it tends to take away from the anime if you have to read it all the time (unless you can understand Japanese). However, I do think subs are better script and audio wise because nothing is changed and the story is told the exact way it is supposed to.

If the voice actors are good, I'll use the dub. Anime usually extends itself to multiple languages because the mouths of the characters don't move in sync with their words anyway. However, I like the sounds of raw, quick Japanese and a sub will then be my best bet, so long as I'm not staring at the bottom five inches of the screen while all the action is happening.

I will always perfer subs over dubs, but I do listen to dubs now and then when I have to watch animes with a friend who ain't a good reader. I'm generally the kind of person who think most shows should be enjoyed in the language they are intended to have.
