    With the Smash 4 DLC being finished, some of us impatient people can start looking ahead to the next smash game. Since Sakurai is done with Smash, who do you think would make it? What characters do you want to see in the new smash game? What old characters do you think aren't returning? What system(s) will it be released on? What stages would you like to see make a return?

    I honestly don't think there will be another. Sad as it may be, this is probably the end. If there is one, it won't be for a very long time. I think the space between the last one and this one was roughly maybe 7 years give or take.

    I'm inclined to agree with Bio; this is a game and a half at least, and I don't really see Nintendo spending so much effort to make another Smash Bros. game that's got more content that this one. I mean, with 58 characters with 8 palette swaps each, some being completely different models (Alph and the Koopalings), 42 stages on the 3DS and 55 stages on the Wii U, over 700 different trophies, Smash Run, Smash Tour, 8 Player Smash, For Glory and For Fun, and all the other cool stuff I haven't mentioned, what could they possibly put in this new game that we don't already have? I think this is a good note to end the series on, and if they do make a Smash Bros. 5, I think they're just trying way to hard.

    If there is a Smash 5, then the DLC and Newcomer requests would be kinda ridiculous. I can imagine the 12 year olds like "OMG WHERE THE HELL IS MY FREDDY FAZBEAR!" or "WHERE IS MY STEVE!" Honestly and I hate to say it, they should stop at 4.

    I'd want Ice Climbers back, but considering how I don't like Pikachu and only sort of like Pit in 4, I guess I'm not missing them too much.

    As for whether Smash 5 will exist... Smash is like Pokémon in that it has a huge cast that gets bigger by the game, and is probably too profitable to drop. On the other hand, considering how Sakurai seems to have more control over Smash than any one man has over Pokémon, maybe there is something in these concerns.
    ...Though dropping all single player elements altogether and using the new space for expanding the roster is an option. I'm still on the fence at whether it's a good option, but it is an option nonetheless.

    I was waiting for someone to mention that. I don't know the numbers behind it, but I'm almost certain that dropping Super Smash Bros would be more financially suicidal than dropping Metroid, or maybe even Zelda. Nintendo won't willingly stop milking that cash knowing there's so much more easy money to make.

    The only way I see it ending is this: if Sakurai really is leaving Smash, then someone else will take over for Smash 5. Maybe that person won't be nearly as good and Smash 5 will be a commercial flop, and then Smash will end. It will be like Rare after the partnership with Microsoft began and after the Stamper brothers left. New management might just not be able to cut it. Seriously, was Perfect Dark Zero as good as Perfect Dark? Have the new Donkey Kong Country games been as good as the SNES ones? When was the last good Banjo-Kazooie game?

    Uh, circling back to my point. I seriously doubt Smash 4 is the last Smash. 5 might be the last if it sucks for a new reason like having a less-awesome director, which might very well kill it.

    ~~~
    Anyhow, my hopes for the next installment are more semi-third-party inclusions. Like more Mega Man, less Final Fantasy. Nintendo can do more partnering with devs/publishers who have worked with them before. Instead of getting Cloud from Squaresoft, grab Geno. Or a Monster Hunter from Capcom. Banjo and Kazooie were only on Nintendo systems before that fiasco I mentioned above. They can try to embrace the distant relatives of the Nintendo family.
