If you didn’t already know, a few months ago the creator of Spongebob, Stephen Hillenburg, passed away. A few days later, a fan started a petition as a joke: to play Sweet Victory, a song from arguably the best episode of Spongebob, at the Super Bowl halftime show. However as time passed by, people actually signed the petition and it got over 1 million people to sign it. As the Super Bowl draws closer, do you think this could possibly happen? Spoiler: Petition https://www.change.org/p/nfl-have-sweet-victory-performed-at-the-super-bowl Spoiler: Article https://comicbook.com/tv-shows/2019...-halftime-show-maroon-5-video-hints-confirms/ Spoiler: Sweet Victory music video I do think that it’s likely (but not guaranteed) because of the teasers mentioned in the above article, and the growing popularity of the petition. If this does happen, I’m definitely tuning in to the halftime show. Even if it’s maroon 5
This is simultaneously the saddest and funniest thing I've heard in a while. This might be the only thing that would make me even remotely interested in football.
I've always been a big fan of the Super Bowl, but never really of American Football itself. If they do this, I honestly wouldn't be shocked considering how big the show has been for the past.. eight or so years? I wouldn't know considering I stopped watching it long, long ago. If they do this, well, I don't really know. I don't care. I'm just there for the game.
Not sure how I feel about Maroon 5 performing it, but, eh, they're not the worse choice I guess. I mean it could have been Imagine Dragons *shudders*. Probably won't be watching it anyway. Superbowl doesn't interest me in the slightest.
They better. Spongebob and its creator were legendary! Maroon 5 performing, though... not as big a fan of that. But it's better than nothing. I won't be watching until one of my nonexistent friends screams "THEY'RE DOING IT" and posts a livestream. THEN I'll watch it.
