Okay, really. Out of all the fast food restaurants I know, Taco Bell is my favorite by far.

Their tacos and burritos are really good, even for a vegetarian like myself. I eat there probably once a week on average.

What are your thoughts on the fast Mexican food giant?

Well I would have thoughts on it if I actually found the feckin' place. I dunno what I was doing wrong in New York but I was seeing a lot of Starbucks and no Taco Bells. Which is a cryin' shame because I love mexican food. :(

Every time I go there I get two things. A double decker taco, and a Chalupa. Those two divine foods are the reason Taco Bell was put on this earth. I usually replicate the double decker at home, it's easy enough, but the chalupa is an exclusive food item so far. mmm now I'm hungry

    Taco y Bella?
Haha, Taco Bell is great. They have a pretty diverse food range. I mean bro. Just go fresca and you make it completely vegan! Love how cheap, fast, and accessible it is to get "healthy" food. Taco Bell es muy perfecto! Pero no lo es mexicano.

Taco Bell only has one advantage over other Mexican food restaurants - it's cheap.

Oh wait, El Pollo Loco is even cheaper. Never mind; Taco Bell has absolutely nothing going for it anymore.

I went to visit a friend once, and in his area there is a sizable Hispanic population; because of that, there are actually multiple choices for Mexican food places. For fast-food, there is the aforementioned Taco Bell, plus El Pollo Loco, Del Taco, Chipotle, Baja Fresh, and a few others I don't recall right now; for sit-down restaurants, there are a lot more, and of different varieties - usually just one-offs in shopping plazas and so forth, but there is also Super Mex, which by far was my favourite of the bunch.

It largely depends on what kind of food that you're looking for (e.g. Del Taco has good small burritos, Chipotle has good larger ones, El Pollo Loco serves a mean quesadilla, and so on), and in the end it comes down to personal preference, but I found Taco Bell decidedly unappetising. In fact, my friend referred to Taco Bell as the McDonald's of Mexican fast-food chains: as good as it is expensive.

Then there's one other story that my friend tells whenever Taco Bell comes up in conversation, just to get a rise out of people:
(If you have a weak constitution, or are easily disgusted, you may not want to read this.)
A friend of a friend of a friend (no, really, I counted) ended up going to Taco Bell to order a burrito of some kind. The cashier told him they couldn't fix burritos right then because their meat hose was broken.
Naturally I just stared blankly for a few seconds before snapping back to reality. Then it set in, and the surprise was gone.

So there's my take. There are better (and cheaper) alternatives available than Taco Bell. I'll pass.

The thing is, Taco Bell is great for diets. Because of all the diarrhea.

    *ahem*

    Anyhow.

I actually like their breakfast menu. I love breakfast foods in general, and one of their morning Crunchwraps has the wonderful combination of biscuits+gravy, potato hash, and mixed pepper, all held together with the magic of eggs and cheese. That is a breakfast done right. That stuff even tops McD's breakfast for me, and almost ties a homemade hot breakfast.
