@BraviaryScout "Tomlin demanded has promised reward; but the king reneged on his promise." Brock intones "Before you receive my daughter, and half my kingdom," he instructs Ash as the king. "you must perform one more heroic deed. In the forest roams a wild Beast which does great harm, and you must catch him first." "I fear one Beast still less than two giants. Seven in one blow, is my kind of affair." Ash smiles as Tomlin. "He took a rope and a bow with him, went into the forest, and bade those who were sent with him to wait outside." Brock continues. "He didn't have to look for too long--a wild Raikou soon approached, and rushed directly on Tomlin, as if it would eat him right there. Tomlin stood still and waited until the majestic Pokémon was quite close, shot an arrow with a rope around it into the tree..." Ash pauses to pantomime firing a bow. "then leaped like a Sawbuck behind the tree. The Raikou was easily tangled in the rope, and struggled mightily to get out, to no avail. He led the Beast away and took it to the king."
@BraviaryScout "The king still would not give him the promised reward, and made a third demand--before the wedding Tomlin was to catch a certain wild Emboar that wreaked great havoc in the forest, and the huntsmen would give him their help." Brock narrates. "Willingly," Ash grins as Tomlin, "that is child's play!" "He did not take the huntsmen with him into the forest, and they were well pleased that he did not, for the wild Emboar had often ambushed them." Brock explains. "When the Emboar spotted Tomlin, it charged at him, and was about to throw him to the ground, but Tomlin hurried into an abandoned shrine which was close by, and went in and out the window. The Emboar ran in after him, but Tomlin ran around outside and shut the door behind it, and then the raging Pokémon, which was much too heavy to fit through the window, was caught." Applause goes up at Tomlin's cleverness. "Tomlin called the huntsmen over, so they could see the Emboar with their own eyes." Brock narrates. "He returned to the king, who was now, whether he liked it or not, obliged to keep his promise, and gave him Princess Natalie and half of his kingdom." He concludes "The wedding was held with great magnificence and equally great joy, and out of a tailor a king was made." The camp applauds as Brock and the others confer on if they have time for one last story to end the night...
@WavePearl (Let's do it if it's short) There were some tired yawns from the people and a few of the Pokémon had already been nestled up, having fallen asleep.
@BraviaryScout (Or we could say they ran out of time.) After concluding that many of the campers were tired, Brock ended the show with an original song as the campfire was put out for the night, and the campers returned to the cabins. It was not long before Taps rang over the camp, heralding the end of the first day of the session...
@WavePearl (Good idea. Personally I thinker we dragged it for a bit too long, but that's ok. You got good stories!) "Phew," Ayesha said as she trudged into the cabin with Chimchar and Ralts in tow, "I'm super tired!"
@BraviaryScout The night passed peacefully for the campers and staff, and at 8 AM the next morning, Reveille rang through the campgrounds to wake them.
@WavePearl (Sorry for not being active here. Vaca and Summer Scramble got me occupied ) Ayesha rubbed her eyes as she rolled out of bed. She saw Emile just arriving back, shirt and towel slung over his shoulder. "Wake up!" He called out, "Anyone who hasn't gone yet, get to the showers now!" "What?" A boy sleepily asked, "Why?" "Unless you want cold water, I'd get going!" She had no intentions of a cold shower and quickly grabbed her towel and bottles of soap.
@BraviaryScout The dining hall buzzed with activity as campers arrived for breakfast. In addition to a massive cereal bar, there were cinnamon rolls and donuts, as well as milk and various juices.
@WavePearl "So Lively," E-Mile started while munching on a donut. "What do you want to do today?" "I dunno." "It's supposed to be cooler, so we can definitely see if our cabin can go take a hike in the woods. We get to see a lot of super rare Pokémon!"
@BraviaryScout Sure enough, hiking excursions for all skill levels were departing from the council house. The beginners would just go on the trail that ringed the camp, as that wasn't very long to hike. More advanced hikers could venture further into the forests and mountains beyond the camp.
@WavePearl "So which one can we do?" "I'd recommend starting out on the beginner hike. Have you ever gone backpacking before?"
@BraviaryScout The first beginner hike was about to depart. The counselor leading the campers was going over the route, and what they could expect to see--including Pokémon and plants both native to the area, and known to visit the area.
@WavePearl "Better go and get your stuff if you want to go." E-Mile encouraged her. "Don't want to be late." Ayesha nodded, hurrying over to them. "I better ask if they'll wait a few minutes." She said
@WavePearl Ayesha hurried back to grab a hiking backpack and some trekking poles. She practically ran over to the guide, hands on her knees and panting heavily. "Sorry...sorry I'm late."
@BraviaryScout "Oh, no, it's fine--you're actually just in time!" the counselor smiled as a few more kids arrived. Once everyone was present, the counselor led the way down the trail, making sure the kids followed her in a line. As it was still early in the morning, there were lots of Pokémon out--both native to Kalos, and known to visit Kalos.
@WavePearl (I have another weekly prompt for this week in mind too!) The trail winded through the woodlands. They heard the sounds of various Pokémon in the habitat, but there was hardly anything visible...yet
@BraviaryScout (Go for it!) Fletchlings sang in the trees, and a mother Pikachu and her five Pichus romped in the grass, oblivious to the humans tromping through the forest around the camp. The Leaf cabins were off in the distance, and some of the campers in the cabins waved at the group.
