Team Galactic Thread

Team Galactic was a really cool villain team, one of the best ones we've had so far. Their plan was fairly well executed, and they really thought about what they were doing, which is something I really miss in other villain teams. The members of Team Galactic actually knew what they were doing, which made them much more threatening.

 

Team Galatic was definitely an awesome team, Cyrus was crazy but he also knew what he was doing. Although I think that it's weird that no one in team galatic ever questioned his plan xD

 

I liked Team Galactic. They did actually manage to summon three legendaries... And I liked the planetary admins too! c:

 

For me team galactic is a joke lol the only cool guy there is Cyrus but thats what makes it so cool i mean for Cyrus the hole team was only a tool for acomplishing his plan

Team Galactic was pretty cool. Their outfits were pretty unique. I also really like some of the names like Mars, Jupiter,and Saturn.

 

They were, by far, my favorite evil organization. They actually managed to get extremely close to their goal, and it was scary how well they functioned.

And besides, I think blowing up a lake deserves a special mention.

 

So, we've learned that 8-Bit Eevee wants to blow up Lake Valor.

Team Galactic is an absolutely brilliant organization. Cyrus, while extremely sociopathic, had the most practical plan of any villain group to date. He knew his goals, knew how to accomplish them, and singlehandedly manipulated all of Team Galactic's members into believing his lie. Remember his speech? Cyrus rallied his followers with fiery words and emotion... none of which he actually believed or possessed. He maintained a brilliant PR scheme that actually gathered the support of most of Sinnoh's residents. He was a cunning, Machiavellian manipulator, and only failed because he forgot to account for Pokethulu (which, to be fair, was all but unknown to even the foremost scholars).

Also, note that I said "is," not "was." After Cyrus' disappearance, Team Galactic wasn't destroyed - Cyrus had made tracing his activities so difficult that the organization as a whole couldn't be blamed. In fact, his second-in-command, Saturn, assumed control of the organization immediately after, and promptly refocused their efforts on researching new forms of energy. Team Galactic, under his command, is implied to have become an entirely legitimate enterprise... and several years later, we see a number of high-tech, space-based solar power plants in the Kalos region. Team Galactic just so happened to be one of the leading developers of solar technology. Make of that what you will.

 

I liked team galactic minus purugly. That tank made it near impossible to get past valley windworks

 

Team Galactic is, without a shadow of a doubt, my all time favourite villainous team in the entirety of Pokémon. Even if battling the team was difficult at times *coughpuruglycoughskuntankcough*, it was a pleasure to be a thorn in Team Galactic's stride.

Though it is unusual that all of Cyrus's Pokémon are weak to Rock type attacks...

 

Team Galactic was really close to succeeding, only being stopped by you and your Pokémon team when you decided to show up and absolutely wreck everything. However, you really have to consider a couple factors that make them that much more memorable than every other team there is.

First off, Team Galactic once blew up a lake. Let me get this straight: to capture Azelf, these guys put a bomb on a lake, evaporated all the water, and then went in to capture Azelf. Not only is that complete overkill the the max, that also goes to show the amount of funds and power they have, to be able to just set up a bomb somewhere that's strong enough to blow up a lake and do it.

Also, Team Galactic had much more loftier goals that were almost successful. The only team(s) that came close to their level of craziness was of Team Aqua/Magma. However, those guys just wanted to make more land or more ocean and ultimately failed when they failed to realize the repercussions of their actions and how the Red and Blue Orbs really work. Cyrus wanted to change the entire world and reform it from the very beginning. He had the plan so carefully thought out from the very beginning that it was practically a miracle that he failed. In fact, I believe that if it weren't for Giratina showing up in Platinum, then he might have succeeded as he had the power of two legendary Pokémon at his side before they disappeared and Giratina came in and abducted him.

Also, their name was cool.

 

I don't like the females much, but Cyrus and Saturn are rather handsome... <3

So, my view on the team as a whole is rather skewed due to my raging hormones and low self-esteem. XD

 

Their costumes are fascinating and look like space men and women XD Also the fact that they summoned the legendary pokemons - plural! That's one too many! - and how hardcore they were with their vision.

Not to mention the fact the leader wanted to kill the player... That was serious stuff (But not as serious as the world-ending Lysander).

 

I really love Team Galactic, their designs and overall plot were fantastic and really helped DPPt feel unique and awesome. Saturn was my favorite admin besides Cyrus, and Cyrus himself was extremely intimidating and such an awesome villain. He was definitely a bit detached, but he did have a legitimate plan and almost saw it through to the end if not for your character interfering.

 

Like every villainous Pokémon team, they had a unique motive and backstory. They aren't my favorite team, but Cyrus sure does have the appearance of a villain. I just feel they could've done a lot more with their gimmick and the plot.
