Team Magma, or Team Aqua?

If I absolutely HAD to choose, I suppose I'd go with Team Magma.

If it were Team Aqua that succeeded, and the world was flooded, so many Pokémon, and potentially people, would die. Especially those weak to water, or just couldn't swim or survive in water. However, if Team Magma succeeded and the world's water was dwindled down, there would still be water Pokémon left to give water for people and other Pokémon, either in the wild or in captivity FOR Pokémon (like aquariums). There would be, seemingly, a lower death rate. Just a theory though. I wasn't on either side in the games. There's a balance for a reason after all.

I think that team aqua's plan is not that well thought through? it's like, we want to expand the ocean with rain, but the rain comes from the ocean.

 

If Team Aqua's plan worked, people would have to spend their entire lives at sea, whereas nearly everything we use in our lives is manufactured on land, including toothpaste, to name one vital commodity. What is the point of Team Aqua's plan? Team Magma's plan at least makes sense in that it increases the amount of space for things to live and grow on. The aquatic life can take the decrease in living space; it would only cover a little less than 70% of the planet.

Plus I'm writing a fanfic character and he's ex-Team Magma because that just opens up for more writing opportunities.
