Alright, time to talk about one of my favorite things on YouTube: TED talks! Of course they didn't originate there, but YouTube is full of these great speeches and lectures. There are many different types of TED talks for many different audiences. I watched these often as part of classes in school, and they can be a great source of learning (and fun!) Have you seen many TED talks? What's your favorite one? I've seen a good handful of them, but there a couple that stand out to me for sure. Here they are: Spoiler
Guessing you saw this in the procrastination thread, but here it is again, because it’s just that good.
I'm subscribed to TED Talks Daily video and to the Ted Radio Hour, so I'm a pretty big fan too. I can't see the embeds above, but I mostly like the science ones since even though I'm a progressive kind of guy, sometimes the speakers get me wanting to lasso a rope around their ankle to get them back down to earth or to focus on a bigger solution. The most vibrant Talks that I remember most vividly are three bioscience ones: a speaker who lost both feet in a climbing accident and had both feet replaced with prosthetics attached directly to the tendons in what was left of his ankles so he learned to walk and run and hop with the same muscle memory after like three steps; someone who invented a way to control robots (their example was a prosthetic arm and hand) with the mind directly as if it's part of the body; and a soft latex robot with no hard parts that can worm around inside the body to do surgery remote control. Those all make me so excited for the future of medicine and transhumanism.
I love TED talks! My favorite is "My love letter to Cosplay". It's so amazing and I just really love to listen and learn. My Dad and Great Aunt got me into them- via NPR. My mom never liked listening to NPR because she wanted music not talk-shows. So it became a forbidden fruit to me. But I'm getting off point. I like all of their videos on youtube and you can learn fascinating stuff like how on a modular level- it's possible to "uncook" an egg. Sorry, I'm going off tangent again. But I really love is people talking about people. How to beat hate, how to become a leader, the power of forgiveness. Those are my favorites.

TED talks are my go-to listens for my walks to and from work now. The radio hour makes it easy for me to consume more content a little outside of my sphere, and sometimes when I'm home and out of things to do I'll go to the TED website and rabbit-hole into their archive for a bit.
