    Oh my, first time I am doing anything active since november?!
    I am kinda ashamed to have neglected this site in half a year, so hopefull I'll get around to stay this time.

    Wow... Umm...

    A few days ago I happened to come across your deviantART... I think I added that Chandelure to my favorites, but if I didn't it was probably because I didn't have the nerve to compliment it in a comment or something. I always like to comment as I add to favorites because I know that I like comments better than favorites, and I figure I'm not alone.

    I really do like your style; it looks really impressionist and I'm a fan of large brush strokes and I like how loose your art is. It gives so much energy and at the same time it makes me feel calm at looking at your pieces. I also like how smudgy the Honedge piece as it gives a unique vibe to it and the red on its tips is a nice touch.
    For advice, I would probably limit your use of black as I find the black not going well with your other colors (especially since the black isn't transparent) and in your Honedge piece the black looks contrasted with that piece too. For shading and outlining with these kinds of pieces, it's best if they were a darker color so it doesn't pop out too much. Also, I find this part to blend with both the object and background but you executed it well by putting a darker line to separate both.

    thank you for this long and thoughtful response! I'm glad you took time to give some critique. I haven't really used any real black colours but some do get close I guess? I picked some of the base colours from the original artwork of Honedge and the rest has been improvisation :)

    best advice I can give is to try stay as much as you can in a single layer! it's a bit challenging at times but the result can be very nice, and of course you can always copy your layers or just merge them all together in the end and then place the final touch! :)


    I'm starting to consider leaving some not Pokémon art here too, that or some of the few trainers I have drawn x'D
