    Does anyone remember the constrictive moves like Wrap, and how insanely broken they were? @_@;;

    [IMG]

    If you don't know what I mean, moves like Wrap used to prevent the opposing Pokémon on making a move, throughout the turns that those moves are still active, until the moves finishes. So basically, fast Pokémon like Rapidash or Charizard who use this move can keep on attacking slower Pokémon, and they wouldn't be able to attack back at all, as long as the move didn't miss..

    Another great combo with this was that people can use their Pokémon to paralyze the opponent first, and so, they can keep on using the restrictive moves. Fortunately you can switch out the Pokémon whenever Wrap is still used, but unless your Pokémon does not have enough speed, the Pokémon can still repeat the Wrap or Fire Spin move. Ugh. There was also Fire Spin, Clamp, and Bind, by the way, and Pokémon like Arbok, Dragonite, or Tentacruel can use those constrictive moves.

    *So again, do you remember the mechanics of those moves?
    *Did you ever abuse those strategies that I've listed, or at least try them?
    *What did you think about those moves mechanics?

    Feel free to share all thoughts! :3

    Oh gawd, I hated that moves so much, Bind and Fire Spin too. They were so broken in Gen 1 it wasn't even funny. You could get whooped completely by one using those cheap moves. I never used them myself since well they were weak and it took forever to take down an enemy even if you pretty much could do whatever you wanted for like 5 turns since they couldn't move.

    That damn mechanic. I'll never forgive Lance and certain NPCs in Stadium for using that broken "strategy". You just had to hope and pray for mercy that the moves would miss.

    Toxic and Leech Seed going off the same counter was also BS.

    These we so dumb. Now that Showdown has random gen 1 battles the flaws in gen 1's battle system are even more apparent. It sucks being trapped by these moves.

    Wrap was so OP. I think it was one of the moves that made me love/hate Gen 1. In all honesty, it would take so many turns before I could actually do something! The thing is I wish they kept some of the unable to move parts of wrap. I think it would have made it less useless compared to how it was made in future generations.

    Ohh, I remember. Most definitely... this was the reason Brock's gym battle was so difficult. He wrapped me to oblivion and I ended up having to retry constantly until the AI decided to not be as smart. Never thought of using the wrap strategy to my advantage (since I've always preferred harder-hitting moves, like Flamethrower) but gah had I done that and been patient enough I would have been indestructible. 8D

    Jesus christ. I hated this as a kid. I wasn't too great at battling and this just made it worse for me, honestly.
