The C-gear was a feature in Gen V. While enabled, it maintains a list of players which are encountered using the DS's wireless capabilities, and various surveys can be conducted, which can lead to rewards at Castelia City's Passerby Analytics HQ. It also had various customization options as well as a boat load of other features that let you connect to other players.

What did you think of the C-Gear? Did you like it, dislike it? Why?

I didn't use it much but i did quite enjoy it. Me and my little brother did the surveys all the time.

I remember playing around with it a bit, changing the colors and the shapes and stuff, but that's about it. I only played the Gen V games on an emulator, so I couldn't use the online features at all, making the C-Gear essentially useless. You could turn it off, but then you're just staring at an empty screen, which isn't much better at all. At least the C-Gear had different colors xD

I never really used it much, I downloaded the skins I could and then used it when I battle my friend though but that was a somewhat rare thing.

Well, I kind of have no choice but to like it. Without it, there would've been no internet or wireless interactions for trading, battling etc.

That aside though, I did like the C-gear. Made great use of the bottom DS screen. My favorite skin was the Victini one.

I hardly used it much as I didn't have a working WiFi connection for the fifth generation games so I don't have a strong opinion on it. C-Gear skins have always attracted me though and I'd wanted to customize mine with new skins but that never happened, nor was I really into the Pokémon GL at the time. Shame.. missed out on a pretty cool thing.

I quite liked the skins and stuff, and changing the arrangement of shapes was pretty cool too.

While I didn't use it much, I fell in love with it's design. There were so many cute C-gear skins and it was really easy to use-- when I did use it. I remember participating in as many Global Link promotions as I could in hopes of unlocking more skins.

I actually never used it for anything; I can't even remember what it looks like. I never knew about these customizable skins before coming to this thread either. Seems like I missed out on it. Oh well, there was no need for me to go online at all in Gen 5 anyways.

I never bothered playing online, and I totally forgot what the C-Gear was in B/W until someone told me about it after X/Y was released. I shouldve used it, haha.

I couldn't use the C-Gear as I played the fifth gen on an emulator which didn't support WiFi, but I liked the idea nonetheless. I think it's a pretty neat feature.
