Above the girl, a strange humanoid shadow lurked in the trees, watching the person with its bright yellow eyes like a owl in the night. "gihihi, iT'S a giRLchiLDyouNGpreY... leT uS waTCHobseRVƏstaLKhuNT~" it whispered in a strange way, his canine-filled mouth unchanging from its smiling position as it stared at the girl.

 

The sound of leaves rustle as wind blows through them. Connor was walking though the forest, picking up any fruits that he could find from the trees. He didn't know how he came to be in a forest, but now wasn't the time to ask those questions. Looking up, he could see that the sky was beginning to darken in color.

'It's getting dark, need to start a fire...' Connor thought to himself, a small smile creeping onto his face at the thought of a controlled flame. With this mind set, he began searching for good fire wood, and dry leaves for tinder. After a while, he'd manage to collect a sizable bundle. He knew better than to just start a fire in the middle of a forest all willy-nilly, his past experienced taught him that. Instead, he needed to create a safe place for the fire. He chose to dig up a deep enough hole in where his camp fire would be placed, that way, the forest was safe from randomly catching fire. Having his idea all planned out, he began digging.

 

Kelsy walked aimlessy through the forest. She had a wide grin on her eyes. And her eyes kept looking around her. "Comr out come out. This littlw bird wants to talk." She sang. "Maybe. Just maybe you let me taste of nice little blood of yours" she continued chuckling. Suddenly she started tl dance. And thr grin never fade it

 

"oO, the giRLvictiMbeaSTchiLD driPS blooDreDentropyliFƏ," the shadow grinned as his voice reverberated nearby, alerting the tribesmen of a danger nearby.
"Whos there?" one of the dancers, the leader judging from how he stood before everyone else demanded, a spear in hand.
"i waS gettiNG hungRYstarviNGrestleSSinsaNƏ, tiMƏ to huNTkiLLfeaSTEAT...!!!"

 

Rising from the dirt below, Connor wipes his fore head with his arm to remove sweat. Finally standing up, he inspected his handy work. He had dug two holes that connect with each other, one big hole to house his camp fire, and a smaller one to supply the camp fire with air. "Done, now to make the fire." And to him that was the easy part. His only issue, was his lack of tools.

He reached behind him for his codex. He found it lying next to him when he had awaken into this unfamiliar place. He knew that the book itself was capable of unimaginable feats. He had written "Food" on the book, and it somehow led him to the Forrest he was currently on. But instead of abusing the book, he decided not to. His parents had always told him that if something was way too good to be true, that it indeed probably had something to hide. And not knowing if using this book would come with a price, he abstained from using it, but for now, he was in dire need. Opening the book to the first blank page, he wrote "Bow Drill", and suddenly one of the many tree branches around him began bending in shape, and a single, long and sturdy string attached the two tips of the branch together.

Connor found it strange how a book was capable of doing any of this, but he couldn't really complain fit now. Picking up the bow drill, he made his way back to his camp fire, ready to make his fire. He began by makeing a v-shaped notch on a small log, and choose a spindle that will create the friction. He began rubbing the spindle between his newly acquired bow drill as fast as he could, moving your hands up and down the spindle rapidly. When the log began to smoke, he used his tinder nest to catch the glowing spark the he had produced. He kept it up until it finally caught ablaze. Just on time as the darkness fully enveloped the sky.

Tired and exhausted, Connor sat down by his fire, eating one of the many fruits he had picked up from the trees. He chose not to think about his current situation, and chose to just think about the present. Once he was done with his food, he threw more tinder into the fire to make it bigger. Fire always calmed his nerves when all else failed, so he was thankful for the flames at least. It didn't take long, but he was starting to get tired, and he knew that he'd need a tent of some sort. Looking back at his codex, he lets out a loud sigh as he opens it once more and writes "Camping gear". And just like he'd hope he soon now had a whole kit for camping, which included a tent, a large backpack, and some tools. Setting up the tent took him a while, but he eventually managed. Throwing some tinder onto the fire one more time, he crawled into his tent and tried resting his eyes, doing his best to ignore the all the sounds around him.

 

Kelsy smiled. As she continued walking repeating the same verse over and over again. With s rope she was carrying a book. She had no idea what the purpose was for it. So far she had woken up and it wss laying there. She couldnt read or write so the use was irrelavant to her.

While trying to get rid of it. Something felt that she couldnt part with it. So instead she had bound it with some rope she found and carried away.

 

"heeheƏ, thaT waS gooDtastYheLPdeliciouS~!!!." the shadow grinned widely as it stood atop a pile of headless (and organless) corpses. Smiling like a child who found a hidden jar of candy, it greedily licked its bloodied hands and took a bite of the heart in his grasp. "buT moRƏ tastY wiLL be thaT giRLpreYkiDmeaT..!" it said, drooling as it darted towards the direction of the girl's house.

 

Connor was suddenly awoken by the sound of quiet cackling. He had no idea how long he's been resting, but his current fear made him ignore the question. Quickly crawling out of the tent, he takes a look around his small camp. The cackling seemed to be coming from everywhere around him, and it seemed to be getting slightly louder. He couldn't see far into the forest, due to his camp fire being very small, it was barely enough to light up his tent. Panicking, he grabbed some more fuel by his tent, and threw some into the fire. Once again, the camp's fire began blazing brightly once more.

Now that the fire was big again, he turned around to face the forest, trying to find the source of the laughter. From the corner of his eye, he could've sworn he saw a dark figure disappear into the shadows. That's when he noticed that the cackling ended, around the moment he threw fuel into the fire. He didn't know what this meant exactly, but nevertheless, he was thankful for the flames that's lit up his camp. Due to the adrenaline pumping into his veins, he no longer felt tired. Not like he wanted to go back to bed with whatever that thing was lurking around. Instead, he opted to sit down by his fire, and try to calm down.

 

Kelsy noticed a fire. Seeming like a camp fire. She narrowed her eyes thinking if she would go there. She shivered she was kinda cold. But thinking about the way she could kill him made her warm from the inside. ''Is someone there, I am coming for you. Do not worry, I won't bite.'' she sang. ''Yet.'' saying it like that with a pause into it between.

She gazed slightly to the book she was pulling a long with her.

 

Listening to the song the little girl was playing on her guitar, the creature dared move closer, secretly peeking through the window. Just as he was about to enter and try pounce her though, the girl suddenly brought out a hairspray and a lighter and created a small fire. It wasn't too big, but the sudden flare frightened the creature and with a startled screech, retreated back.

 

"Is someone there, I am coming for you. Do not worry, I won't bite" A voice alerted Connor, quickly making him turn around to face the forest behind him. "Yet." It continued after its pause.

Connor didn't really know what to think at the moment, due to everything happening very suddenly. He call out to the feminine voice, but by the way it spoke, and it's tone, didn't sound very friendly. If anything, this person was probably a danger to him, and he should probably make a run for it. But his current choices were either that strange cackling shadowy figure he saw in the darkness, or this stranger, and he didn't like either. But probably choosing the more sane option, he decided to call out to the female, but not before searching through his new backpack for one of the many camping tools to defend himself with if things went south.

"Um... hello?" Connor spoke, facing the direction in which the voice came from, still sitting down next to his fire with his newly acquired camping knife by his side. "Look, if you're out there, you might as well come here by the fire. I've seen something strange lurking in the darkness by the trees, and I don't recommend anyone being out there right now."

 

Kelsy was surprised by the answer she suddenly got. She slowly went forward to the voice and more to the fire.
''You aren't scared of me.'' as she finally got her smile back. The grin she always wore,, showing no fear nor weakness. She felt of course different from the inside.

She sat down before him. on the oppsite of the campfire. ''Hello..'' she gazed around observering all the things. ''How did you all make this? it is a good hideout.'' Kelsy complimented. She pulled on the rope that showed the book. ''Do you want to have this?''

 

Thoroughly terrified of the flaming girl, the shadow took off away from her, into the safety of the forest. After a few moments of running, the creature stopped, arriving in a small clearing with a dead tree in the centre. Panting slightly, the shadow slumped along the lone vegetation, clutching his head as his frown turned back into a smile.
"yeS, i aM saFƏsurviVƏafraiDcowaRDaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Clutching his head harder, the shadow wailed in agony, shaking the forest with its screech...
"i muST go baCKawaYretuRNescaPƏaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

The fear of the unknown soon diminished from Connor once the female was within view, even more so once she sat down at the opposite side of the fire. He sat there patiently as she looked around and asked questions. At her final question, Connor raised one of his eyebrows, not knowing why she was offering him her codex. Knowing something was probably wrong, he decided to answer all of questions in order.

"Well, I wouldn't say I'm scared, more cautious than anything, really. I just got here recently, so I don't really know what's going on." Connor answered her first question, before continuing. "As to how I made all of this, well the set up itself was something I learned from camping out before. The fire pit is made so that wild fires are much more unlikely to happen, unless the fire is too big. The tent itself, and the tools were... given to me."

Connor than looked at the book then back at the female. "I'm going to assume you didn't read the context of that book of yours... I highly recomend it, it's very important. I find it strange how you haven't read it yet, but you probably have your reasons."
