September 18th of 2010 was the day when Pokémon Black and White was released in Japan, and it also marks the beginning of the 5th Generation of Pokémon series. And time sure flies that today is the 5th anniversary of one of the considered the best main game of all time. I'm wondering what are you doing when BW was about to be released, and did the wait worth it? You can share your moments of BW throughout 5 years as well.

I ordered the Japanese versions because I didn't feel like waiting almost 6 months for English release of the games.

Gen 5 was what restored much of my love for Pokémon. I had taken a sabbatical from Pokémon after Emerald and did get back into Pokémon at the end of Platinum, but had to sell all my games to help pay for rent that month. When Pokémon Black and White was released, it revitalized my love for Pokémon after I bought the games. Many Pokémon impressed me from this generation, including the starters, the cover Legendaries, and one of my favorite of all time, Hydregion. I fell in love with a lot of Pokémon from this game. Black and White 2, the sequels, is one of the best ideas that Gamefreak ever had and expanded on an already great storyline. 5th Gen was a great addition to the Pokémon universe and is one of my favorites, rightfully so.

I actually wasn't into Pokémon at the time, so I played it back in 2014 instead, but I had a great time playing it, and it has to be one of my favorite Pokémon games ever.

I'm kinda biased twards it, haha.

No way has it been 5 years! Remember the day it came out and how everyone joked about the title! Time reall does fly and it's amazing to see how these games made Pokémon as a whole series even more fun and changed the metagame forever!

I was excited when black and white was introduced, when I got back from school I saw Pokémon black and white in front of my eyes! Unfortunately I did not play other Pokémon games outside black and white afterward

Oh, wow, five years already! Well, four years for me, it came out in 2011 in Australia, March. I know, I know. You must be thinking "How did you wait that long?". Well, let me tell you, Pokémon Black and White was all worth the wait! I remember on the way to school during the waiting period, talking to Ho-Oh about what our teams would be and what we would nickname them. I remember saying that I'll have a Krookodile called Snappy, while Ho-Oh would put Master in front of all of her Pokémon's names. I fell in love with Zekrom, and Ho-Oh with Reshiram. Pokémon Black and White made me love Pokémon even more, and is what made me keep updating on recent Pokémon news.

I have a lot more to say, but I loved the characters so much that I made comics about them daily! Ah, the fifth generation brought a lot of traditions with it. If only I didn't spoil it with walkthroughs and didn't rush the game...

I love gen 5! I was soooooo pumped to get Blakc/White. It came out a day before my birthday! That was an awesome birthday, if I may say so myself.

For me, Gen 5 introduced Oshawott and Black Kyurem, some of my favourite Pokémon! I was so happy when I heard I was allowed to buy Pokémon Black. I loved it so much! It felt like the game had undergone such a transformation since Gen 4... It looked so much better! It's still ranked among my favourite games of all time.
