So, more and more recently, the Pokémon games don't seem to be giving events in store. They give you codes that you can use to download the Pokémon, but the don't have event stands that you connect to with Wi-Fi anymore. I honestly don't understand why they do this... The codes are limited in quantity, such as the Diancie codes. I went into an EB Games (Australian version of Gamestop), they said they ran out first day and didn't know when they would get any back in. If they had given them away in store they wouldn't have run out like that.

With more and more events being download via Wi-Fi or code, do you guys mourn the loss of the old events or do you guys prefer wi-fi an (limited amounts of) codes to get your event Pokémon?

I'm not sure but if I remember correctly, I think the reason for this is that they want the event Pokémon to remain special. Apparently, back in 5th Gen, people were somehow able to create their own distribution servers and then send out the events limitlessly. I think this was one of the reasons they're starting to give out serial codes only instead. It's not a very efficient distribution method, but I can see why they want to do it that way.

Can we just get rid of in-store events and bring everything to the WiFi connections? I hate those store events, simply because I have no way of getting them. I'm missing out on a lot of amazing Pokémon that way, just because there's no participating store anywhere near where I live... If they just bring everything to the WiFi connection, you can just obtain the events from home; much faster and much easier!

All the one to me, really. By the time store events actually came to shops that used to do business here the stores had closed down. I'm not pleased with the notion that some events are now gonna incorporate streetpass though.

I enjoyed the Diancie and Gengar events because I actually got to go get them. I don't think that they will ever die in the near future.
