Alex couldn't help but laugh devilishly with the current turn of events. "You're all fools... fools who cannot open their eyes to the truth."

"What is he talking about?" Marina thought to herself as she looked at him in confusion. She wanted to ask Marco if he was always like that. However, she still focused and did not keep her guard down.

Marco raised his brow but saw this as an opportunity. "We can't stop attacking now, hurry!"

Orbs of golden light begin to surround the knight as he strikes the enemy with full force as the orbs amplify the strength of Erik!

Alex fell down on his knees, still laughing. However, the group was certain that one thing was sure, he was defeated. "Give up," Marco said as he pointed his rod towards him.

A chuckling Alex managed to reply "never," his laughter becoming even louder by the second.

 

"How foolish..." Alex smirked as he felt himself getting chained up. Like before, he laughed again, but this time, it was a lot louder. "If you can't open your eyes from illusions... then forget about changing the world for the better."

With those words, Alex's body began to shatter like a piece of glass that was broken. "We are not finished..."

Everything slowly began to crack and little by little, the pieces disintegrated into the air, leaving behind the chain which fell to the ground. A bright white light flashes and blinds the rest of the group. When the light disappeared, the group realized that they were back at the main hall.

"What... what just happened?!" Marina asked as she looked around. The fight in the main hall was still going on like nothing had happened earlier and Alex was nowhere to be found near the hallway.

 

"I don't know! Did he play some kind of illusion or something?" Marina said as she looked around. "Also, it doesn't seem like the battle against the Wolves is over - they are definitely less of them now but it doesn't seem like they're giving up."

"I should've taken the fact that he had no rod as a sign that he was using magic against us already," Marco was infuriated himself. "We have to go look for him again, but we have to stay alert and attack one that has a rod. He definitely used the same hallway we fought in to escape, so let's start looking there."

 

Both Marina and Marco looked around, doing their best to not be spotted by enemies, aall of which seemed to be preoccupied with battling.

In front of Marina, there seemed to be three copies of Alex with their backs turned. "Another illusion," she spoke. The one on the left didn't seem to be carrying anything, the one at the middle was carrying a stick, while the one on the far right carried what seemed to be a bow. "Wait, which one was it again? Is it one of these three?"

 

"Yeah, there are three Alex-es here..." Marina said as she raised her bow.

"Wait!" Marco came closer to the rest of the group. "We have to think our target carefully. If we don't, we'll be wasting precious time."

"One of them has no weapon, another has a stick, and another wields a bow." He continued as he looked at the group again. "Are any of those items something a Black Mage would use? If not, then we shouldn't be wasting our time here."
