@Laserdragon14 @ShinigamiMiroku @ChocoChicken Here we go! The adventures begin now! The party for this stream: Brock: In the DM's chair Ash: Aldaron the Red (lv.1 human battlemage wizard) Misty: Dame Meri of Halidor (lv. 1 human Blue Dragon magic knight) Serena: Christine Belmont (lv. 1 human light runeblade) Shadow: Sharian Frostrunner (lv. 1 elf ice runeblade) Carolyn: Luciana Nuvolo (lv. 1 Sirena Lightsinger minstrel) Robert: Keda Flameheart (lv. 1 flame dwarf fighter) The main screen in the enclave blipped to life to show Brock and the table in the familiar game room where "The Jeweled Champions (and Friends)" was filmed. And we're rolling camera--we have a little time before we get going, since everyone is still changing into costume." he assured the chat. Once sure the main camera and the PC that controlled all the cameras, the main screen, sound effects, and music were ready, Brock brought over a large box full of Chambers and Charizards adventure books over to his dungeon master's nook before a question in the chat got his attention. "In addition to the three regulars, we have a few guests tonight. If you want to come play with us, drop us a message and we'll be happy to work out the details." he explained as he put up the addresses for the show's e-mail and different social media channels--Pokebook, Chitter, Memogram, and MyTube. In another part of the complex, Serena--wearing a red plaid runeblade's outfit welcomed the three guests to the large complex somewhere in the heart of Pallet Town."Hi, come on in! Thanks for coming to play with us tonight." She heard Brock asking something in the main game room. "Do you want to make a character first, or get your costume first?" (Pokebook=Facebook Chitter=Twitter Memogram=Instagram MyTube=YouTube) (what Serena's costume basically looks like Brock is wearing his Let's Go costume, if you're curious)
Robert nodded his head. "Good evening. Thank you for inviting us," he replied. "I think I would like to make a character first; that way, I know what theme to go for with the costume."
The sight or the cameras made Shadow feel a great amount of stress on his back. He started to nervously play with the keychain that he kept inside one of his pockets. "I would like to make my character first as well, please," Shadow stuttered.
@Laserdragon14 @ShinigamiMiroku "All right...come with me." Serena led the way to the main gaming room, acknowledging Brock with a nod as she arrived. "Two of the guests are here--Shadow, and Robert." "Okay..." Brock folded down the dungeon master's screen long enough to address the guests. "Have you two ever played Chambers before?" he asked as he gave them both a blank character sheet. "If you haven't, or it's been a while, I'll walk you through the process step by step."
"I've never got the chance to play before," Shadow answered. He secretly hoped that he didn't sound pitiful or weak to anyone.
@Laserdragon14 "All right--I'll do my best to de-mystify all the numbers and terms on here." Brock assured Shadow as he set out an empty soup can full of pencils. "Even I was a newbie at one point." He turned business-like again. "We'll start at the top and go down--Player is obviously your real name. For Campaign Name, just put down 'The Jeweled Champions (and Friends).' If we were playing an official campaign, that would go here. Date is obviously the date, so just put today's date." He flashed his PokeNav which had "5/10/2018 5:20 PM KDT" on CalendarNav. (I just picked a random date--KDT means Kanto Daylight Time)
Robert looked at the sheet. Some things seemed familiar, but others much different. "It's... been awhile, and the CM wasn't very good at explaining things," he replied, then began following the instructions Brock was giving.
@Laserdragon14 @ShinigamiMiroku "For Current Experience, just write 0--since we're starting at lv. 1." Brock explained. "Next, you pick your character's race--what your character basically is. He displayed the current playable races on the screen. "If you need to know what any of these are like, and any innate skills and abilities they get, just ask." (what's on the screen: Current C&C 5e Playable Races: Human Elf Dwarf Halfling Tiefling Sylvan Sirena (female exclusive)
Robert nodded as he marked the appropriate boxes. "The first four are easy enough to understand - assuming they are comparable to their counterparts in The Lord of the Hoopas - but I'm unfamiliar with 'Tieflings' and 'Sylvan'. What are those, and how are they unique from the others?"
@Laserdragon14 @ShinigamiMiroku @ChocoChicken "Sylvan are basically fairies." Brock explained. "Tieflings are humanoids with demon blood. This does not mean that all of them are evil--there are some heroic tieflings too."
@Laserdragon14 "Any race can be any class." Brock explains. "However, you do have to keep in mind that certain classes have to be certain alignments--I do enforce the 'no evil characters' rule used in C&C competitive play." He smiles. "More on classes and alignments momentarily." Just then, Ash arrives in a beautiful red, white, silver, and gold costume that evokes a red mage from Final Fantasy. "Generally, magic knights, runeblades, and fighters must be lawful, paladins must be lawful good, and minstrels must be neutral." (what Ash's costume basically looks like)
@Laserdragon14 @ShinigamiMiroku "You can be any of the standard playable races and classes." Brock explained. He started up DungeonNav on his PokeNav. "If you need name ideas for your character, let me know, and I will generate some easy to say, easy to spell, and appropriate names."
"Can I have some name ideas, please?" asked Shadow quickly as he brushed his hair away from his eyes. Shadow was already bad at coming up with names and he didn't want to embarrass himself on tv with the bad names.
@Laserdragon14 Brock clicked over to the "Elf" section of the name generator, and generated a round of five names. "Pelleas, Artin, Lorsan, Venali, Sharian...like any of those, or need me to generate more?
"I'd like to try Dwarf, if possible - and I would definitely like some suggestions on names," Robert added.
