    Brock turned the page and winced at the next encounter. Misty would have my head if I threw a bug Pokémon or bug-like monster at the party!

    He decides to just bypass the Ariados encounter entirely. "These natural caverns wind deeper into the hill. A hint of fresh air wafts from somewhere farther ahead in the darkness, carrying a low, weirdly melodious sound through the caves." He adds some spooky noises into the cave mix to illustrate his point.

    Robert noticed Brock's slight flinch but naturally didn't comment on it.

    Keda sniffed the air as they delved deeper into the cave. "Hmm, the air in here is not quite as stale as one would imagine. There must be a secondary opening elsewhere..." he commented. "We should probably be careful to avoid combat; bugs and bats in particular inhabit such caves." He hoped his dwarven instincts would guide them well through the natural tunnels.

    "There's mostly coins in the living area--about 561 gold pieces in all." Brock replies "Searching the kitchen is more fruitful--you find a level 1 Potion of Life, a Potion of Shock Resistance, a Fine Gold Lantern and 20 large jars of oil, and a magic whistle. The rest are just ingredients or trinkets."

    "Does the magic whistle have a specific effect when played, or not?" Ash asks.

    "It doesn't have any specific effect." Brock replies as he nudges a familiar shiny gold whistle with a green mouthpiece in Ash's direction. "I presume you want it?"

    "Of course." Ash smiles as he takes the tiny instrument, then notes the magic whistle on his character sheet.

    "Actually..." Brock smiles as he looks over the item stats. "It can function as an infinite Firaga spell, that does not cost either magic power or oil. Easy way to destroy plant monsters, ice monsters and metal monsters."

    "To put that into perspective, you have an infinite level 3 Fire spell anyone can use." Serena explained. "Even if you are not playing a magic using character."
