Welcome to the Library's Ongoing Story!

Basically, I will start a (usually Pokémon themed) story, and your job is to contribute at least 2 paragraphs to continue it, all the way until the story ends. Then the process begins anew with a new story.

    However:

    --All forum rules apply
--Your contribution must make sense with what has been previously posted. So if the last poster's entry ended with Ash, Misty, and Brock in a cave, don't start your contribution by saying they are in a forest unless you have a good explanation as to how they got to the forest from the cave.
--Don't just kill everybody off for no good reason--if someone must be killed off, build up to it and try to make the characters' reactions to the loss realistic.
--Use details--submissions should be at least 2 paragraphs or 8 lines of dialogue

If you have any questions, concerns, constructive criticism, or story suggestions, please PM me.

Now that the pleasentries are out of the way, here's our first story:

"Ah, vacation...nothing like surf, sun, and fun!" Ash smiled as he, Misty and Brock arrived on the beach. The sun streamed down on the white sand and the umbrellas of other beachgoers dotting the beach like gems. A few surfers and their Pokémon were taking advantage of the gently rolling waves to practice their art, while a volleyball game was underway nearby a small wooden shack, where beachgoers could buy a light meal or a cold drink and rest in the shade.

Misty just smiled. "Eager as always...i'm gonna work on my tan." With that, she planted the trio's red, blue, and green umbrella in an empty square of sand, allowing Brock to set down a picnic basket, a guitar case, and a variety of beach toys on the ground.

Once sure that a familiar deep blue towel and a few beach chairs were set up, Ash grinned when he saw the familiar guitar case. "Gonna serenade the waves?"

"Just so long as he doesn't make a fool of himself serenading a pretty girl, he can play all he wants." Misty mused before walking off to the locker building to change.

"Yes, I was gonna serenade the waves and the Wingulls, but I was also planning on sharing a few stories too." Brock replied. "Like the hidden treasure said to be buried somewhere on the island."

"You mean, like pirates?" Ash gasped, scenes from "Pirates of the Sevii Islands" dancing in his mind as Brock opened the guitar case and carefully yet quickly started tuning the beautiful yellow brown instrument inside. "Brock's gonna tell a pirate story!" he giddily told Misty as she returned in a cyan and white bikini.

"Pirates, huh?" Misty mused--she'd never heard Brock tell a pirate story before--most of his stories usually involved epic quests, trickster tales, love lost and love found, or how things came to be.

Once sure he was in tune, Brock started a relaxed melody,."The story goes that long ago..."

"I was exploring the grand ocean with some of my best Pokémon, the wind was blowing east and I could smell the beautiful sea breeze. My Onix was petrified of the water below us, and I was also incredibly shocked the big fellow hadn't broke the little boat already. As I gazed upon the horizon, I could see a large vessel approaching. It's flag was that of a Marowak Skull.

The enormous boat was coming closer, and it began to loom over us, my ship seemed like a tiny ant compared to what was in front of me. Suddenly, before I knew it, two robes were hurled down on to my ship, and down with them came two men, with angry looks on their face. One of the men spoke out "You were unlucky to come within range of the Golden Marowak Pirates!"

Misty rolled her eyes--Brock didn't look the type to go toe to toe with pirates.

Ash, on the other hand, was mesmerized in Brock's tale. "So what did you do?" he asked.

Brock set the guitar aside and picked up a plank of old wood. "I drew my blade and challenged the pirates to a duel!"

Misty giggled at Brock's dramatic pose. "You really know how to fight with a sword?

"He's a master archer, so I wouldn't be surprised." Ash mused as Misty reached for a guidebook of the island.

"Okay, Mr. Adventurer, here's how the story REALLY goes." Misty began, prompting Brock to set down the wood plank in defeat and return to his waiting guitar. "Long ago, a band of pirates had their hideout here when they weren't out plundering and pillaging. They explored much of the island until they came to a large cave nearby a large rock that resembled a Lapras. They named it Lapras Cove, and buried their treasure there after devising a lot of traps to deter anyone from taking it. Although the pirates have long since gone, their treasure still remains, waiting for someone to brave the many traps of Lapras Cove."
