As some of you may know, there is an old man in Anistar City who requests that you let him care for one of your Pokémon for awhile, as he is lonely after, if I remember right, the passing of his wife. After leaving a pidgy with him for quite some time, something compelled me to visit the old man and the pidgy. When I got there, however, all that greeted me was pidgy, alone in its Pokéball... With the ball, there was a note, along with a comet shard. It says how he is thankfull that I let pidgy stay with him, and how he is afraid and sorry he will no longer be able to care for pidgy... Hes gone, that was a goodbye letter, and the old man had reached the end of his life. I cant even bring myself to sell the shard, and gave it to pidgy instead... X and Y is alot darker than the past Pokémon games, thats for sure.

Wow. That is pretty dark. It's also so interesting and deep that I wish (and/or hope) that it's connected to the ghost in Luminose city in some way. Like maybe she's the dead wife or something?

I don't know. Just tossing ideas around.

    I wonder...

Just like one of the side stories tied into the team flare story. About the guy named AZ who designed a machine 3000 years ago to bring back his deceased Pokémon, but was enraged and ended up turning it into pretty much a "death-ray" type of weapon. That story was pretty dark enough. However it did have a lot of emotion, and trust me I felt very bad for the guy, I was hoping he'd get his Pokémon back some day if it returned to him, which it did. I actually love the darker side of Pokémon, makes it more realistic.

And don't forget that: (Major spoiler below, so don't read if you haven't played/finished the game)

When you are helping Looker, whenever you are talking to Malva, she tells you to be prepared to give your life

I just did this today and found it very sad. I have to wonder what Game Freak's purpose was in including him.
