The postgame for X and Y was quite short, with one of the only main storylines afterwards being the Lumoise Looker Quests. Though it only had a few parts and was generally quick, I found the Looker Quests to be honestly entertaining and actually quite heartfelt. They also provided a good amount of higher leveled opponents and tied up a few loose ends from the story, to boot.

Did you complete the postgame Looker Quests in Lumoise? What did you guys think?

I did them. And I liked them, they were really good. Plus, I'm a Doctor who fan, which made these really nice (there is a fan theory that Looker is actually a doctor in disguise, he looks like one of then and he only refers to himself with the code name looker.)
They were a nice little story. Even now I look at the Looker tickets and smile because they were good and I do wish I could do them again.

The Looker missions were a great post game story, I actually felt so sad at the end of the last mission. If only Game Freak had done something like free DLC for more Looker missions where you and Emma work together or something.

I thought it was a great addition to the postgame. To be completely honest, it was the Looker Storyline that gave me a little bit of hope that maybe, one day, we'll have a Pokémon game with a good plotline. Looker is a great character, I really like how he has appeared in every generation since his debut, and in my opinion, has one of the best soundtracks in the entire game. The whole Emma storyline was great, and at the end, it even got me a little emotional :)

I did the whole thing and it was awesome :D In my opinion it had some of the best plot in a main Pokémon game ever.

And people say there is no post game in X/Y! How could you forget the Looker quests? @[member="Satix"] was one of the major complainers about X/Y's post game (And I agree with him, the post game story is pretty small and there's not much to do, at all.) but he hadn't beaten the Looker quests up until a month ago! I still find that really funny.

Looker is one of my favorite characters in Pokémon. He's always really cool so having these little quests were awesome!

This...I disagree with. It's a very bold statement considering we have games like Mystery Dungeon out there. I thought a lot of the games had a really good plot line, Black and White's plot was amazing, so was B/W 2. It was the first time they properly seemed like they knew what they were talking about and a lot of it tied together very well. It was awesome! X/Y didn't have a bad plot either, imo.

I was talking about the main series games. Especially because the plotlines of the Mystery Dungeon games are much better as the average main Pokémon game, it's strange how the main series are kind of lacking on that aspect. Still, Pokémon was never known for its storyline, so it doesn't matter too much.

I still don't agree though, like I said I think B/W had a really good plot line, and yeah it's true that a lot of them don't but I think their plot lines are good in their own way. I'm not sure what is considered the best plot line by fans but I think that B/W must be pretty high up there as it introduced characters which seem to have real emotions and feelings.

True, among the main series, Gen V definitely has one of the best storylines, especially because of N. But when you compare Pokémon games with other franchises, you'll see that there's still lots of room for improvement. On the other hand, the Pokémon story formula is really basic, and it has been the same since Gen I, so there's not too much they can do, which is a shame...

I wouldn't call that a shame though. A complicated storyline really doesn't suit Pokémon, it's never been like that and I hope it never will be. It's nice to have good character development but an overly long/complicated storyline directs too much away from what Pokémon is really about.

There still wasn't much post game regardless of the Looker quest. It only took an hour at most, so that's tremendously disappointing. All there is after you do that is the Maison.

I thought they were fun and had a well-thought-out story behind them; shame there wasn't much else for post-game...

But since all of that is generic and has been said already, I present this relevant picture:

I really liked them, but sadly they're short so I was quickly done with them. IMO they could have done a bit more for the post game stuff in XY.

The Looker Quests were more interesting to me than the actual storyline. The quests were really short though, but the character development was amazing. It was really cute.

I think it was a great post game, they were pretty interesting and kinda hard.

Still sad you can't repeat those quests D:

At least you can still battle with Emma at random times.

IMO, the Looker Quests had a lot of Tearjerker moments. I usually ditch them because they tend to make me feel sad.

Also, it is heavily implied that Looker's croagunk died. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Emma mentions that Looker's partner died, IIRC the only Pokémon he's been seen with in a game before is his Croagunk, and there's a photo of him with his Croagunk in his office. It's pretty heavily implicit that it's the Croagunk that died.

In general, I love the Looker quests because I love Looker, and the relationship he builds up with Emma goes at my heartstrings like Harpo Marx.

I enjoyed the Looker quests a lot. It caught me by surprise, since I had met Looker in Platinum (I have yet to play Gen V), and it was nice to see him get some character development.

Also, for those that missed it, the Looker storyline bears one of the few mentions of a Pokémon dying due to a battle. In Platinum, he had a croagunk. During a conversation, it's mentioned that Looker's Pokémon was killed fighting a criminal... and there's a small portrait of a bluish-purple Pokémon on his desk in the Looker Bureau. Give his character a lot more depth than one would expect.

I suspect this isn't the last we'll see of Looker.

I noticed that the postgame was really short, and I was extremely disappointed. I found the Looker's Missions by accident, and went through the whole thing and I actually liked it. It had an actual storyline to it and was heartfelt as well. I just wish after completing them, you can do side quests to where you can help other people with problems and get money for it, or an item.
